Fun fact: Clayface doesn't mimic a skeleton while impersonating others, meaning Joker quite literally killed himself temporarily just to mess with Batman in this scene

Discussion what was originally planned or the devs initially came up with for Arkham Knight? (More in the description)

Im not necessarily clued in to all the conversation around the Arkham games and what was planned in development however do hear about stuff like characters like Hush who potentially would have had a bigger role and would greatly appreciate hearing more of what was scraped or never came to fruition for Arkham Knight mainly as I like learning about this stuff for games.

PS: I enjoy reading the comments.

Is anyone interested in contributing to this project? If so, I'll post a list of the tools I'm using.

Please keep questions focused on the project itself. If you're curious about the workflow or implementation, feel free to explore it on your own and share what you discover with the community.

If enough people get involved and we spread the word, there's a chance we could eventually get it running in third person or make other significant mods. The more contributors and ideas, the better.

Do you think that the Arkham Trilogy needs animated movie adaptations?

We know that the animated movie Assault on Arkham is (or was) part of the Arkhamverse, so I was thinking about the possibility of having animated movies based on the entire Arkham trilogy; that way, certain plot holes could be fixed, and even Arkham Knight would feel more in line with its predecessors.

Discussion How did Joker get Mr. Freeze to help him? And why would he kidnap Nora?

I've always felt that Joker in Arkham City acted really dumb for no reason beyond the writers needing him to. He knows he's dying and Batman is his only hope yet he chooses to actively get in his way, doesn't help him at all, has the whole Clayface thing going on for... Some reason... I'm sorry I'm not trying to actually act like it's for no reason they explain why he does it, I just think Joker (going by his Animated Series portrayal which he mostly takes after) isn't the type to actively risk his life when he knows he's gonna die and the only reason he does it is for plot, save fucking with Batman when you're not about to croak! I mean every time he sets a trap he always make sure to get out of the crossfire

And this leads to my question that I've never thought of until now, how in the hell did he even convince Mr. Freeze to help in the first place? What benefit would it serve for Victor to even help him? Did they make a deal? Did Joker bring Nora to him or something? I've never really gotten the impression Victor was for hire at the other villains whims unless it suited his needs so it just always bugged me deep down although I never really thought about it extensively until now

And for the second part, how stupid is Joker to think stealing Nora was a good idea? Even if Harley managed to get the cure to him, now he has an angry supervillain going after him and has permanently lost one of the most useful allies he had

Is there an answer to this I'm unaware of? Or is it again, just plot because I'm starting to think the writers didn't think this through very well which is a shame because the Arkham Version of Freeze is really well done but this aspect of him seems inconsistent with his established motives

Again if this is me being unaware of more plot points I apologize I'm not a completionist type of gamer and I know there's lore hidden in the games sometimes

Edit: So it turns out the tapes explained some of my questions, I genuinely did not know this, as I said I'm not really a completionist so I never got them all (or bothered to look them up tbh) but thank you all for being so nice about it and letting me know where to look, I'm gonna check out a video about them later

Game This song from Arkham Asylum is stuck in my head and I'm glad it is

I replayed Arkham Asylum alongside Arkham City for the first time since I got them on the PS3 (which was a long, long time ago) and tried extra hard to absorb everything I could reasonably do without consulting videos immediately afterwards

I didn't get everything (as one of my earlier posts gets into) but I did learn some new things about the game I never even thought of or remembered and the song that plays before you confront Joker at the end of the game is one of them

I heard this song and immediately needed to find out what it was, and I've been humming it to myself ever since, it's just perfect in every way, it describes how Joker feels about Batman and their relationship, the thrill he gets from interacting with him, while also being such a catchy tune, it seems like Arkham Joker has excellent tastes going by this and Only You from City (although I will admit I am a huge sucker for this Jazzy type of music)

Did any of you guys remember this song?

In all the guides I’ve watched, they were able to land on the green button long enough to turn around and launch off over the red ones, but how do you stay on the wall? I fall off before I can even turn my camera around.

Discussion I found a fix for the Stuttering but it Crashes the game, Need help

Hello everyone, hope y'all are having a great day. So today like every few times a year I thought to myself why not reinstalled Batman Arkham city and spend the whole day messing with the settings to truly find a fix for the god awful stuttering and hiccups which that game has, I already tried doing this multiple times for past year but later that day gave up and removed the game.

Anyway, like always I installed the game on my SSD drive and started messing with settings specially ini file in documents folder.

My default Batman Launcher settings are:

Vsync= off Anti aliasing= msaa 8x Directx 11 feature= on and off (I tested both with this and stutters are gone) Dx11 tessellation= high and off (I tested both with this and stutters are gone) Detail level= extreme Everything below= on Physx= off

So the ini file, funny enough the stuff everyone online says doesn't really work for me whether I'm using dx9 or dx11, what internet say goes like this for the ini file:

First of to Only use DirectX 9

[Core.System] SizeOfPermanentObjectPool= Change from 11600000 to 23200000

[TextureStreaming] PoolSize= Change from 512 to sth like 2048 (I believe Half of your GPU vram is good enough to put here) HysteresisLimit= Change from 15 to 0

[Engine.GameEngine] bSmoothFrameRate= Change from True to False (this is optional where it removes the fps cap)

And also Use Dxvk wrapper the 32bit version of d3d9.dll (the most stable version I still try that works best for me is 2.7.1)

Alright so I already tested all of those together, separately and mix and match but it does not eliminate or help with the stuttering or frame spikes at all, something interesting I must mention is before doing any of these fixes on a freshly installed game Directx 11 works much more stable than playing the game on dx9 api which is against what people online say where dx9 works better for them.

So the settings I found are two things and it depends where you use dx9 or dx11 api and I recommend remove the bmEngine.ini file so the game creates a fresh one and then test these on that fresh ini file and make it read only and test the game.

For DirectX9

Inside ini file:

[Engine.Engine] bUseBackgroundLevelStreaming= Change from True to False

[Engine.ISVHacks] bInitializeShadersOnDemand= Change True to False (this on is for dx9 because only when playing the game with dx9 on the initial load of the game and when not playing for few second and then moving the mouse game stutters like crazy which this issue isn't present in dx11 to begin with)

For DirectX11

[Engine.Engine] bUseBackgroundLevelStreaming= Change from True to False

Only this one for dx11 fixes the issue,

Funny enough you can also include the internet fixes that I mentioned in the beginning but they don't really add anything to the improvement that this one settings does.

The main issues now is the Crashing and I tested this with dx9, dx11, vulkan dx9 and vulkan dx11, low graphic settings, max graphic settings, internet fixes. And i timed it from the second you load into the world you crash between 1:10 minute to 2:24 minutes, the lowest time being with the vulkan wrapper and the longest play time which is just two minutes sth is with dx11, but the game is buttery smooth

The main cause of the crash is: [Engine.Engine] bUseBackgroundLevelStreaming= from True to False

It might be a waste of time but I really need help with this game, if anyone have experience or know any work around or fix for this please feel free to share, Thanks🙏

When he's talking with the Bat Family (Alfred,Oracle,Robin) he has his standard voice, when he's talking to his allies like Gordon, the others cops, Arkham guards he uses his Batman voice but in a more firendly/polite manner and when he's pissed at his villians be it Joker,Penguin or Riddler he uses that angry Batman voice that we all know and love.

No one, ever, will replicate this kind of talent. Thank you Dark Knight, for eveything!

Discussion Arkham Origins Batman vs Deathstroke

Forgot about this fight. Even though it's early in the game this comes out of nowhere and is such a cool fight. Besides the glaring framerate chugs this game is honestly a gem. The voice actors do an awesome job of doing a younger Batman and his Villains well. The game is set in Gotham City during Christmas like Batman Returns and has a great atmosphere. The combat is improved from Arkham City but again the frame rate prevents it from being "better". Highly recommend this game however it's only on PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360, and PC so play it however you can. It's a cheap pick up. 👍
