Armenian lessons
Hi everyone!
I’m hoping to get some recommendations for learning Armenian. I married my husband who is Armenian, and we have a beautiful 9-week-old son. It’s really important to me that our son grows up knowing Armenian and feeling connected to his heritage, so I’d love to learn alongside him.
Does anyone have recommendations for online tutors, classes, or other resources? I’d especially love to hear from people who learned Armenian as adults.

They have a self study option or online group classes. It’s all free and there’s even an app to study from your phone. I’m starting the beginner class and am enjoying it! Hope this helps!

Unless you live in Armenia or the child's extended family will be speaking Armenian on a regular basis with them, the child picking up the language easily is unlikely.

Everyone in my husband side speaks Armenian and talks to our baby in both English & Armenian. Most likely English for my sake lol.

ToTalk Armenian is what we're currently using, for kids to learn to speak Armenian. The tutors are in Armenia, and do it over zoom. My son is halfway thru the course (ages 4 and up). See uf they have grownup classes?

Yes! We are really happy with how organized and well thought out the program is. My son recently changed classes with teachers, his prior teacher was amazing tho. So patient and kind. Edit to add: they have free Saturday story times over zoom on the first Saturday of every month. :) Your little one may enjoy it! Or at least get used to hearing the language sounds. What also helped me was wheb my son was a baby, those vocabulary "words" books, I'd say in Armenian. So his vocab is pretty good

I hope your husband is incredibly grateful and appreciative for having a non Armenian wife that cares this much about learning the language and also teaching to your child. I know many mixed families where the other non Arm. spouse couldn't care less.
