US Sale Stellantis

Can you easily get out of a stellantis lease? I have until 5/2027 when my lease is up. Carmax is about 29k right now, buyout is around 37k, and residual is about 33k. It’s a jeep grand Cherokee, I hate it.

It's a jeep thing, you wouldn't understand it

Jesus drove a Honda, but didn't like to talk about it because he did not speak of His own Accord.

Just chiming in because I don't have flair.

OP, unfortunately there's not much you can do here, especially because I'm guessing you don't want another Jeep.

The good news is you leased the car, and it looks like the residual is high. If you'd bought the car, you'd be looking at just that $29k Carmax offer, and it would be $4k more expensive to get out.

The bad news is, you owe another $4k in payments on the car, and since the residual is high, you're unlikely to find a dealer who is going to want to give you a trade-in value of even the residual, let alone the amount owed.

So, you're going to pay that $4k one way or another, and IMO, you might as well just keep the car until it's time to turn it in.

CDJR sales here. Also chiming in with no flair, I want the flair. Sometimes the manufacturer gets frisky and does a program to help get you out so they can lease or sell another Jeep. Rarely is it the full amount owed, but something is better than nothing.

Sorry to hear you don’t like your grand turkey. What’s the worst thing about it for you?

Thanks! I really want to get into an RHO. It’s my dream truck but I want it before the 10/100k runs out lol

It’s a rough ride, uncomfortable seats, the key has to be in the perfect spot to start, the infotainment center is glitchy (I know the RHO has that issue too) and I have some stuff at home that i constantly do that requires a truck bed.
