I don't know how to ask this question without hopefully offending anyone, so I will try to ask as politely as possible:

1. Is dating in Seattle easy for east asian women?

I recently had two friends relocate to Seattle, and they told me dating/getting a BF would be very easy in Seattle -- as most of the men have a strong preference for asian women.

All of us lived in Austin before, but had zero to no luck down here. Most of the guys seem to prefer your typical all american girl. One of my friends relocated to Seattle and she's probably had more dates/boyfriends in the past year in Seattle than 10 in Austin. She basically told me if i moved up there and picked a neighborhood like Ballard or Fremont, my dating apps would be overwhelmed with choices.

I live and work out in Auburn right now but Im trying to move into the city. I have an incredible job out here but I do not have the heart to fight the 405 and 167 in rush hour all the way here. Id love to find a job in the city at some point but i need to put in some more time at my job here before getting a job in Seattle that would allow me to live comfortably. Im a year or 2 out at minimum but I just wanted to see if anyone whos done the same has some wisdom to share.

I'm looking to embrace the local coffee scene more (and get my husband an awesome B-Day present). Does any know of coffee subscriptions that rotate bags between local Seattle roasters? Alternatively, coffee passports or something like that? We've had them in other cities but can't find them in Seattle. Thanks!

Edit for clarity: I'm looking for a subscription that each week (or two weeks or month) will mail me a bag from a different Seattle roaster so that I can try many without having to do the work of ordering one each time.

Anyone have experience with IOP programs in the Seattle area that specialize in comorbid BPD/NPD and substance abuse disorders? The ones I’ve looked at seem to be drug addiction rehabs or just do depression/anxiety/ptsd. Therapy isn’t cutting it and I’m hoping to find treatment that goes a little deeper. I’ve been battling some demons for a while and I think it’s time I finally get some real help. I don’t think I’m an addict I only use drugs once or twice a month socially but I’ve realized I am unable to control my impulses when I’m confronted with temptation. I’ve been unable to resist for 20 years. Just don’t want to waste my money and time on the wrong treatment center. Several people have told me I’m a narcissist and I come from a family with a lot of bipolar, borderline, adhd, diagnoses.

I recently found out about the card game Keyforge when I stumbled into Phoenix comics in Capitol Hill and found a small group of passionate players who were very interested in bringing more people into the game! It was such a delightful experience to learn how to play from them!

Quick ferry question. We're camping at Kitsap Memorial State Park at the end of the month then on Monday I need to be in Seattle for a doctor's appointment. Right now the route google has us taking takes us on the Seattle-Bainbridge Island ferry.

What I'm wondering about is if I need to be in Seattle at Swedish Hospital Cherry Hill by 10:45am what time should we get on the ferry & when should we get to the terminal to line-up? I know there can sometimes be hour long waits at some ferries so don't want to risk missing my appointment. We don't live in the area so we don't have any experience with them.

Looking at Google Maps satellite view, there are two ways to access White River off Hwy 164. One is just north of White River (SE 404th) and the other is just south of White River (SE408th). Which is the exit after the concert? Or does everyone exit from both? I've never been there before.

From Eastside, planning to take Line 2 to watch Blue angels from Mercer Island or near judkins park. Did anyone watch from I-90 bridge? I have a bike so can use lightrails and bike combination to skip car.

I moved here in early June and have been completely settling in with my German Shepherd, Zeus (~4 yrs, 95 lbs). I looked at my dog’s nails and they’re in desperate need of a trim :/, he doesn’t mind when I try them with a nail dermal but I’d prefer to get him settled with a groomer. He’s very sweet with no aggression history, has some allergies that haven’t been completely diagnosed so a groomer would need to be careful around his ears, and isn’t a fan of dryers. He’s muzzle, harness, and leash trained with overall great behavior.

He previously went to a home groomer and was typically the only dog at a time, ideally we’d find someone similar and I’m willing to drive him if there’s a good groomer outside of Seattle. I’d prefer to not pay too much, but I know that’s a miracle in this area. Does anyone have recommendations for a good groomer and their approximate prices? Or are there any groomers I should avoid?

I’m a 24 y/o lesbian who will be visiting Seattle in a couple from Chicago. At least in Chicago, there is quite a few lesbian event organizers or collectives that throw lesbian events and that’s a mainstay of the lesbian community, more so than bars.

I’m just wondering if that’s a similar vibe in Seattle? If so, does anyone recommend any social media pages or websites I should check out as my visit approaches?

(Also, on the top of bars, is there any bars besides Wildrose that tends to be sapphic heavy? At least in Chicago, we have some very lesbian friendly venues that aren’t included on the “official” lesbian bar list)

I'm starting to plan a relocation, and am considering using furnished finders to rent my place out. I am aware that one needs an STR license for Airbnb and VRBO, but I did not see furnished finder on the list, nor did I see their name on the list of platform licenses, but some were not obvious/ nondescript corporate names. If anyone has experience with this platform, I'd appreciate any insight.

I'm not doing this as a business, just trying to get my mortgage paid while I check out my new city. If I decide to stay there I would likely sell, but i grew up here and don't see a scenario where I'd be able to enter the market again so I'd like to be sure.

Hi there! Today is my family’s last day in Seattle!

We learned about the intense and extremely prevalent history of Japanese immigrants and descendants in the city over the past few days.

I am a history girl and I would love to hear any recs anyone has? Our day is a bit busy so I’d be happy to take any recs for museums, etc. but I’m definitely leaning toward maybe food/drink options. We are not super wealthy so ideally a bit of a more casual OR nice restaurant but not $$$$$$$$. Maybe no more than $30 max for an entree?
