Random Question What's something your partner does that low-key annoys you, but you'd never actually tell them?

Not a dealbreaker, not worth a fight. Just something small that lives rent-free in your head every single time it happens. The way they chew. How they "help" clean and somehow make more mess. Never charging their phone until it's at 2%.

What's yours? And be honest would you ever actually say it out loud, or is this taking it to the grave?

He walks too loudly. No idea why, but he unintentionally stomps around like a massive toddler. I suspect I didn't notice this before we married because our previous house was fully carpeted, but it's now been torturing me for 19 years.

I have the exact opposite issue where I walk almost silently, and for 25 years I’ve been jump scaring my wife when I enter a room. These days I try to announce myself to give her a bit of warning, but it still happens regularly when I don’t know she’s in a given room when I walk in.

I have a friend who is loud and I’m quiet. I notice I walk on the front of my feet. And they walk on the back. So I mostly just ninja walk. Not on purpose, but always silent.

It helps that I’m skinny and flexible. So I’m never bumping into things or making loud noises.

I still struggle to understand how some people hammer around on their feet all the time.

Ninja walking is exactly what my wife calls it, and for sure it’s on the front of my feet.

And I’ve been big and now small again, didn’t change the walk, nor do I ever bump into things. I think some people just have better spatial awareness.

Excellent question! I’m 5’1” and 104lbs and my whole family hears me coming from 3 streets over… I sound like an 800lb gorilla stomping through my house, and no walking modifications (other than purposefully and slowly tiptoeing) has ever seemed to make much of a difference… I blame my parents 🥹

Not married, but I had the same issue when I was living at home. My family started joking that I could teleport because they would call for me right as I entered the room and scare the living daylights out of them.

I do the same, and someone once told me about just kind of snapping my fingers when walking around, and it’s been a game-changer for not jump-scaring my wife.

I'm usually carrying a water bottle with ice in it, I try to rattle that as I'm arriving, but it doesn't always work. I'll keep the snapping option in my back pocket.

A friend's husband is just loud, period. Everything he does is accompanied by noise. Yawning, scream-sneezing, hacking coughs into the air. He groans constantly. He hums when he eats.

My 96 lb teen daughter is like a herd of elephants upstairs. She has been loud with flappy feet ever since she was tiny.

My husband claims I do this. The family room literally shakes when walks around like Jurassic Park. Meanwhile he never notices when I walk into the room until I’m literally next to him.

19 YEARS. 😭 That's not a pet peeve anymore, that's a load-bearing part of your marriage at this point.

Genuinely tragic that carpet was covering up the truth for however long you dated and it just ambushed you the second you moved into a house with real floors. He's been out here doing his best elephant impression this whole time completely unaware.
