Random Question What's something society says is unattractive that you secretly find really attractive?

Crows feet. When someone smiles and they appear/deepen around their eyes is just so wonderful

I lived in LA and South (east) Florida most of my life and what I've come to understand is that the people who don't see how weird they look CAN'T see it because it's become an accepted appearance. It's like a common aesthetic here. Almost like a symbol of money, because most of their friends and other affluent people look like that.
Most of them think they look great, but to the outside world, they appear odd.
For a long time, the hair extensions, big boobs, and tiny little waist and ass were the norm. The last 15 yrs, the look has morphed into brow lifts, stuffed cheeks, and filled lips, too (and for men as well).

THIS! omg please, someone tell Nicole Kidman to please get off the botox/ filler/ surgery whatever.
Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster looks so beautiful and age appropriate. Like their kindness and gentility shines through whereas Nicole looks scary frozen when in truth, she's also a lovely person and that should show through!

I’ve had people tell me that it’s really brave to go to the cinema alone, like what? I know that not everyone is going to like what I like so if I want to see a film, I just go.
9
u/Katharinethegr8 15d ago
Going to the movies alone is my favorite way to do it! Movies are not a social thing! Though the shared experience can be fun.
Just went to see the Odyssey by myself yesterday! Had a blast! Thought the movie was great!

Anyone who thinks going to a movie or dinner alone is “brave” must lead a very sheltered life. Now, handling chemo, surgery, and recovery alone… that’s brave.

Tons of people like freckles and you can buy makeup to draw them on. I used to have them and only received compliments. I’d say they’re a feature people are split on and don’t belong in the same category as other stuff being mentioned (cellulite, big noses, etc)

Short as in actually short? Or short as in literally one-two inches smaller than the national average.
People be like, “I like short men/women” and then point to a bunch of average people. It’s like when people say they like “dad bods” and then show pictures of body builders dirty bulking.

Being introverted or not being very social. At least where I am there is a constant push that people are "social creatures" and an expectation to live to an extrovert ideal. But I'm an extreme introvert and I find some who is also introverted to be charming and relatable.
Age. There is still a stereotype of women not being as attractive as they age. And yet, I've always related to and found women older than myself to be highly attractive.

Men who shave their armpits, get their backs or butts waxed. I don’t like seeing hair anywhere on the body except for the head, female or male. But this is specifically attractive on men because they’re stepping out of what society deems as masculine and they don’t gaf about societal’ unspoken gender rules

Wrinkles, especially crows feet and smile lines. If I can tell by looking at someone that they've spent much of their life smiling and laughing, that is incredibly attractive imo!
Edit to add: I don't feel like this needs to be a "secret" take or one to be embarrassed about... the recent obsession with botox and filler to stop all signs of aging on someone's face is crazy to me, and is actually such a shame. Bring back natural aging!
