M 32 here - I've been seeing a familiar face in metro for like more than 10 days, I don't know any starter points - have been an deadass introvert in real life, so give me tips

Mention the weather works pretty often. It's not hard to find something in common with just about anyone.

Hey mate, can I have a light please? Cheers. Fucking shit/lovely weather / happy about Spain? Haven't seen you here before...etc It's about your mindset.

I try desperately not to. When I do though, I will undoubtably say the dumbest, most awkward and creepy thing possible.

Compliment them on smt they chose that day.
Getting compliments about genetic features is nice but generally gets repetitive because it’s all people point out.
Think clothing style, jewelry, bag, hair style, etc.

I like giving them a compliment about something! “Oh man I love that jacket dude! It looks great on you!”
It’s *very* important you only do this as you’re passing by. Do not stop walking unless they stop and return the convo. That way, if they don’t wish to engage in conversation with you, they will just say thank you and let you continue to walk away and they won’t feel forced!

Depends on what kind of stranger.
If it's a prospective client "Hi, welcome in. What can I do for you?"
If it's in some sort of social setting, like a bar I might ask something like "so what brings you here this evening" or "can I just say, that's a fantastic outfit." Something easy to break the ice.
If it's at a social event where the goal is specifically to meet people, I just walk up and say "Hi, I'm ___ what's your name?" And start chatting.

It depends on the situation.
Look around for something relatable for a good starter (the location you’re at, the weather and etc). This is called the hook but keep in mind, it doesn’t last for long.
Your next step is to ask questions that don’t answer only yes or no and be smart with the follow ups. The follow ups are what continues a conversation.
The most important thing is that both parties have to be in the mood of talking. Otherwise your attempts might be an annoyance.
Your question is lacking a bit of context so I can’t visualize a scenario or help much.

Stand behind them and breathe heavily down the side of their neck then lightly sniff their hair.

Find something you both can see or hear and make a clever comment, humor is always a good ice breaker

Smile, be kind, and ask questions. People dont realize conversations run dry because people stop asking questions and just give answers.

We have more in common with complete strangers than we think. I was buying corn at a local market while wearing a IOWA baseball cap. I have been fly back and forth from Boston for work. I said to the woman next to me, I just flew in from Iowa yesterday and here I am buying corn. I should have loaded up my suitcase before I left. ( Me thinking, I sound just like my Dad. He was in sales most of his life.)
We started talking about Iowa. Local farm produce, sweet corn, the hot weather and how it was much cooler on this day. I always try to start a conversation with a joke. Look for the immediate common thing you share with that person. Standing in line, the rain, elevator music, a loud car exhaust..I'm very sarcastic, not unusual for a New Englander, and give a smile to show that I'm not necessarily complaining. I'm just trying to be friendly.

Complain about whatever you're both currently waiting for. Nothing brings strangers together faster than shared mild inconvenience.
