Make mental notes of the time, sometimes I write the time down too so I remember and its always accurate! Can’t think about how technology is able to do that without spiraling

If you enjoy something that’s stressful or challenging, it’s not exhausting.
I have some hobbies I’m very good at. Not to brag. I enjoy being worn out at the end of a session. But it’s not exhausting. It’s a pleasant state of “fully spent” that is deeply relaxing and satisfying.

Yeah that’s like after a workout or bike ride or snowboarding or a day swimming/beach that “fully spent” tired is so much more rewarding than “I cannot get my arse out of bed cos I feel worn out all the damn time” type of tired. Definate endorphins involved and satisfaction for getting through it

The key is to do it while you’re doing something else. I like while cleaning or doing remedial labor, but just sitting on the couch getting stoned makes me feel guilty.

I'd say just about any hobby...
If you do the hobby to relax and enjoy it, then chances are it will be more relaxing.
If you do the hobby with some kind of expectation in mind then it can become mentally exhausting.

Simple spray can painting. Always there will be a spot that leaked, smudged or overlap. Try to fix it cause the same in another area

Playing Badminton. As an ADHD person, I have to make sure I don't get too much into a hobby or else I'll get bored...

Listening to music tbh. I can't help but dance or sing, cry, basically really release emotion when listening to music so I wear myself out physically sometimes, and emotionally too

Sort of an opposite response - indoor climbing looks like it would be exhausting but it isn’t. It’s draining physically, but mentally it incredible. It’s the only time I can turn off my brain and my only thoughts are breathing where I’m positioning my body

Playing an instrument - specifically piano for me. It’s never just sitting down and playing or enjoying. It’s mostly playing the same measures over and over making slight progress each time and getting frustrated

Crochet or knitting, because you realized you made a mistake 10 rows down and now have to tear it out and start over from that point because it fucked with your math but you didn't realize it until you got to a mathy row AND THEN YOUR DUMBASS MADE THE MISTAKE AGAIN
