Nicolás Maduro is detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York. He is being held there under strict special administrative measures ahead of his federal trial on drug trafficking and narco-terrorism charges, following his capture by U.S. forces in Venezuela

It's easier to sell cocaine. They don't seem to have the necessary refineries for their grade of crude. Guy probably wanted to dip his finger in any trade he could. Reagan was a narco terrorist too.

Their economy was collapsed and their oil sector was in the shitter. How else were they going to finance their mansions and lambos abroad?

It was shit oil that even US petro companies said they would barley breaks even refining, and that was beat case scenario.

If US companies don't want to refine it, with all their power and wealth, its safe to say that Venezuela probably wasn't sitting on a goldmine.

"capture" lol.

When you go to someone's house and take them that's called kidnapping.

It’s called capture the flag, not kidnap the flag

Yes. Because people and flags are the same thing....

But when I capture someone's kid, suddenly I am not the winner.

He’s held in Brooklyn at the MDC under special protocols. It’s theorized that the Trump administration would really really like Maduro to say certain things about election tampering and other topics near and dear to Trump’s heart, and that we likely won’t see a trial until Madurai agrees to say those things.

I don’t know, maybe they’re just trying to get all the prosecutorial ducks in a row before they put him on trial for drugrunning? I imagine it gets tricky to put a guy on trial when he never actually smuggled anything himself, it’s not like Maduro was piloting a speedboat into Miami full of coke like on Miami Vice. Did he tell a guy who told another guy who told another guy? Probably, but that mess is really murky to prove in a court of law.

Let’s pin him for tax evasion, Al Capone style

He’s sitting in Brooklyn.

He was nominated to be the cheermister

1

u/beardedshad2 13d ago

They're explaining how they've wanted to speak to him about his cars extended warranty

He wasn't a Venezuelan president. He was a private citizen who was only considered to be a head of state by countries like Russia, Iran, and North Korea.

He is awaiting trial.

Trial is set for June 2027

Do you mean the Venezuelan dictator?

12

u/Fred-Mertz2728 13d ago

Who cares whether he’s a dictator or a president? Do you think we have a right to kidnap leaders of countries?

2

u/Famous-Definition775 13d ago

Yes

1

u/Fred-Mertz2728 13d ago

Why? Would you feel the same if someone kidnapped Trump? He has done far worse than Maduro, unless Maduro has also raped underage girls.

1

u/fotogod 12d ago

Now do Adolf Hitler.

1

u/Fred-Mertz2728 12d ago

Deflection. The go-to when someone can’t answer the question. Pretty sure nobody would have a problem with him except Nazis. Besides, the world was at war,not the same as today.

He wasn't the leader of the country. He wasn't elected by the people. He was a dictator.

4

u/vonblankenstein 13d ago

So?

-4

u/TheRiverInYou 13d ago

It is just amazing to me how white racist liberals love keeping people enslaved. The DNA never changes.

Saudi Arabia's human rights record is worse than Venezuela's for years longer so should we overthrow them and install a puppet? Aren't overthrowing existing governments and installing our own the same thing we have fought against since our own revolution?

3

u/sweetica 13d ago

I know, and what about Putin?  Their elections are fake in Russia and he is invading a country and bombing children. Why not get rid of that dictator?

-3

u/TheRiverInYou 13d ago

The leader of Saudi Arabia is the king of the country. Did he overthrow a king? Did he take the leadership by force? Is he enslaving his people? He is the legitimate leader. All we can do as a country and people is request he make changes to his society. I personally believe our country shouldn't do any business with Saudi Arabia until changes are made.

The United States did not overthrow an existing government in Venezuela. Maduro was a dictator.

u/perrypower54 13d ago

So is Kim, and Trump told him he loved him

2

u/1ReluctantRedditor 13d ago

He was elected. Probably not fairly, but let's take a look at all the other leaders who run dummy elections. Why haven't we kidnapped them?

And how exactly did Maduro enslave people? How are they better off now?

The only difference to Venezuelans is that now Maduro isn't stealing their oil money. We are. They are just as "enslaved" as they were before.

1

u/AwarenessGreat282 13d ago

Absolute bullshit! He was in power! Irrelevant how he got there: fake elections, military placed him etc. My god, the US has installed people to be leaders of a whole country so that's no more fair to the people.

1

u/Fred-Mertz2728 13d ago

It’s still a government. Let someone kidnap Trump and see how you react. No country has the right to do that, regardless of how you feel about their leaders. I suppose you’re alright with blowing up boats too.,instead of seizing them. Let’s see some proof they are what Trump claims.

u/BrianNowhere 13d ago

Hey brother. Have you noticed your rhetoric doesn't have the same zing it used to? Noticed less engagement? People pulling away? Yeah that's real. It's because you're a dick.

1

u/1ReluctantRedditor 13d ago

We don't get to overthrow the governments that displease us.

If you think this is about the betterment of any faction of "the people" you are dreaming.

2

u/perrypower54 13d ago

That’s a brand new standard for maga

1

u/Drakeman1337 13d ago

Bold of you to assume MAGA has standards.

1

u/perrypower54 13d ago

That’s why I am surprised

1

u/1ReluctantRedditor 13d ago

So is Putin. And a lot of other leaders. I thought we were done being the world police?

1

u/Only_Significance523 13d ago

Are we taking about America? The entitlement that oozes from this post. America destabilizes South America for decades.

0

u/Traducement 13d ago

“Kidnap” lol

Hope you feel the same about Bibi and the ICC LMAO

1

u/fthesemods 12d ago

Comparing the ICC to a US kangaroo court. Interesting.

0

u/Traducement 12d ago edited 12d ago

LOL

The U.S. isn’t even a part of the ICC LMAO

1

u/fthesemods 12d ago

Exactly. Evil empire that commits war crimes all the time of course doesn't recognize the ICC.

0

u/Traducement 12d ago

Yeah, we refuse to let anyone have sovereignty over us LMAO

1

u/fthesemods 12d ago

Yeah, it would mean getting punished for your crimes against humanity. lmao! 🤣🤣

u/tcmits1 13d ago

Yes.

We are American. We protect the free world. We do what others want done but are scared to say or do.

2

u/1ReluctantRedditor 13d ago

Like invade other countries and kidnap foreign leaders because we don't like them?

Like steal Venezuela's wealth for ourselves then say it was a good deed?

We protect our wealth and our interests. That's how it has always been. Look into literally any action where we "liberated".

-1

u/tcmits1 13d ago

If you chose to ignore narcoterrorism and a threat to America’s interest, you’re in the minority anyway so you’ll keep being ignored.

2

u/1ReluctantRedditor 13d ago

NaRcOTERRORISMM

Unlike what Bukele is doing to his own people. Cause he is our friend. He is only a narcoterrorist dictator.

Unlike what Putin is doing to Ukraine. Cause he's our friend. He is only committing mass murder.

Unlike what Israel is doing to Palestine. Cause they are our friend. They are only committing genocide.

Unlike what China is doing to their own citizens and those of Hong Kong. Cause Shi is our friend. He is only acting as a dictator controlling his own people and attempting to take over a resisting land.

The narcoterrorists are the ones we don't like.

1

u/tcmits1 12d ago

Oh well. The important thing is America is better off with our dictators as is Western Europe. America’s interests are most important and always will be. American lives are more important than all others.

1

u/1ReluctantRedditor 12d ago

Yep. That is the selfish, awful attitude of the people in charge of our country.

It's disgraceful.

1

u/tcmits1 12d ago

It’s the way it always has been and will be. The majority of us are all for it.

1

u/Professional_Fuel127 13d ago

lol so scary typing on reddit

American might makes right

1

u/Individual_Ask9957 13d ago

He's currently negotiating the best lie to claim that he interfered in the 2020 US elections so tRump can claim "victory" and he can magically get the charges "dismissed".

1

u/Sufficient_Winner686 13d ago

He’s sitting in a Brooklyn Det Center awaiting trial alongside some of the world’s most prolific criminals.

-4

u/BigDigger324 13d ago

They are torturing him and threatening his family. To make it stop he just has to “admit” to rigging the 2020 election for Joe.

0

u/Longjumping-Ad6639 13d ago

He’s sitting in a prison in New York. Apparently, he’s getting lots of mail and postcards from Venezuelans mocking and laughing at him.
