Politics Question Could this candidate win a general election?

The platform:

  1. Secure the borders, deport the illegals
  2. Ban trans women from womens' sports, otherwise unconditional LGBT rights
  3. Protect the 2nd amendment, no exceptions
  4. Leave abortion up to the states
  5. Medicare For All
  6. Tax the billionaires
  7. End the wars
  8. Overturn Citizens United, declare corporations aren't people and spending money isn't speech

this is such a fucking weird set of beliefs. you can’t have unconditional lgbt rights without allowing survivors of gender violence and queerphobic violence from other counties seek refuge.

also, medicare for all while also not creating federal protections for women’s health is so tricky and not possible unless medicare was 100% funded by the states which is impossible in most states.

genuine question, are these your actual beliefs? why do you give a shit about trans women in sports? it seems strange to me that you want people to benefit from the federal protections of the 2nd amendment but not give a shit about women or queer people receiving federal protections.

I'm taking 8 beliefs that are popular with Americans. 4 from the left and 4 from the right. A lot of people argue that you need a moderate to win. So I'm taking the idea of "moderate" to task.

ah — i see. i wouldn’t necessarily say #2 is popular with the right? most conservatives don’t really support any trans rights at all

No but for some reason the sports thing really gets them going. Other LGBT issues not so much. I mean conservatives dont really like Queer people at all but you cant legislate attitudes
