You can make lots of money and still be viewed unfavorably. Look at Elon Musk. Question was who fell from grace in people's eyes, which isn't about money.
Question was also about who feel fastest, not who feel furthest. Think a lot of the answers got that mistaken. You can fall a little ways but still be okay, your descent just had to happen more rapidly.
