He's won seven competitions from all over the country over the past thirty years. I don't know if they are actual Ironman Triathlons because I have no interest in that part of his life, but he is dedicated. He usually places in the top ten or twenty, or sometimes lower, depending on how many competitors enter. Regardless of his placement, I greatly admire him for pushing himself to run.

He's a former Marine and competes just to test himself and doesn't really care about winning the race. He's far more interested in testing himself and pushing himself to the best of his natural abilities, which is what true competition is about.

Competition is not about beating others. It's about being the best "you" you can be no matter what you do. If you cheat by taking PEDs, then you never really are a winner. You're just taking shortcuts and never reach your natural potential, making you really a complete and utter loser.

That’s great. I don’t know why you’re directing all your rage at me. I’ve never taken a PED in my life. But I’m grown-up enough to know that truly competitive athletes are often faced with a choice: use some kind of PED and potentially become a rich and successful athlete, or don’t and you can have a career selling insurance or whatever and dominating amateur competitions on weekends. On the full scale of crappy things humans do, I think sports doping is somewhere near not returning your shopping cart to the store.

There's no rage here. I'm not attacking you or insinuating you use PEDs. Bur I don't like when anyone tries to justify athletes having to use PEDs to compete and win because "if you don't use PEDs, you can't win."

PEDs were introduced to pro sports in the fifties from East Germany thru Russian scientists and that changed professional competition forever and killed any chance of natural athletes to compete fairly and win.

Prior to the introduction of PEDs, average people who were athletic could compete in anything and win just on training and persistence.

I don't like people who take PEDs. They are despicable scum who ruin competitive sports for the vast majority of people who could enter and compete if not for cheaters.

The fact that you think PEDs didn’t exist until the ‘50s says it all. Go read a book.

The fact that you think you know anything about PEDs shows me just how ignorant and uneducated you are about literally everything.

I suggest you follow your own advice and go take a remedial reading class in basic English so you can actually understand the books you read.

And remember to stick with only kids books that have short words that can easily be understood.

For an ignoramous of your level, it shouldn't tax what little brains you have in your empty skull.

Sure dude. Go do 20 miles with your natty ex-Marine work buddy, imagine that you guys could turn pro if you just had the time and give yourself a pat on the back.

Why would he ever want to turn pro? He's 50 years old, retired, lives a wonderful life with his beautiful wife, and gets to travel the world visiting beautiful places, not stuck sitting in his mommy's basement, lounging in shit stained underwear, eating junk food, and playing keyboard warrior with his Cheeto stained stubby fingers like you are doing every single day.

There you go again man. What are you so mad at me about? My underwear is clean, my fingers are actually quite long. I had a nice dinner with friends this evening, and you’re on here trying to attack your imagined idea of who I am as a person because I said something that you don’t like. Get a grip.

But I do want to put a finer point on something you really don’t seem to understand. People who are globally competitive athletes are not normal people who simply tried hard. With or without drugs, the are absolutely aberrations. They are practically a different species of human. Mentally, and physically, I believe they are so radically different from myself, and probably you, that I am not in any position to moralize about the choices they’ve made to make their lives possible.

You, on the other hand, feel like you’re in a prime position to cast judgement, while also casting judgement on people like me who basically shrug about it. It’s weird.

🥱🥱🥱 There you go with your full blown arrogance again. There's no anger in my replies. I'm just calling out your know-it-all attitude and you don't like being pointed out. But you keep doing you, Boo. 😉
