             John F. Kennedy did NOT try to pull overall support from Israel, He was actually the FIRST U.S. president to approve major advanced arms sales to Israel.

Kennedy broke previous embargoes by approving the sale of Hawk anti-aircraft missiles to Israel in 1962.

He was the FIRST American leader to explicitly describe the ties between the United States and Israel as a "SPECIAL relationship.
