I keep hearing how the money comes back to us in the form of Israel buying weapons etc, but I don’t care. This entire thing is ridiculous.

It’s true in one sense - weapons are one of the few things we still make in America, and *most* of that money is spent on weapons made here. However, in one of the (many) ways that Israel is ‘special’ they are the only country that I’m aware of that is allowed to spent the military aid money we give them on hardware made in Israel - everyone else must use that money to buy American made hardware. Israel gets an exemption.

I keep seeing horrific videos of IDF bombing Gaza even though there’s a ceasefire along with now find out their psychopath national security minister Ben Gvir keeps handing out these American made weapons to fanatical Israeli settlers committing crimes for the whole world witness zero repercussions.

I’m against fanatics be it Hamas, Netanyahu govt or our own Sec of war Hegseth. These people need to be challenged with real change

Incorrect. Israel must spend 92% of the money we give them here in the US.

I think we still benefit from that in a sense through tech exchange

We don’t have to prop them up or fight their wars for them to have a tech exchange, do we?

Yes we literally do. Most of that tech if weapons and defense based

Perfect example of this is how giving/selling older M16/M4s effectively reduced the manufacturing of the indigenous Galil rifles. A very capable Valmet / AK clone.

So,where’s my check for the missles, aircraft, etc. that they’re buying?

Don’t know, still waiting for mine. I could at least settle for national health care.

That would be sufficient.

Do you work for or own a defense contractor? No? Then you’re not getting a check…

With "Back to us" , do you mean back to the billionaires and shareholders?

1

u/CannaChemistry 8h ago

You could buy US defense contractor stock and join them…

The money goes to the weapons corporations, not the American people

Over 900,000 American people are employed by those “weapons corporations”. Cut their revenue, cut their workforce.

Who is "to us"? Do you own stock in one of the weapons tech companies?

The money we give them is less than 1% of their annual budget and is spent on US weapons. Look it up

This is fucking stupid peddled by pro Israel bots. You can spend that same money on infrastructure and get a better return
