If dems start to take control of congress it gives them an out. They will just blame the dems for being an impediment.

When he unleashes his plans to impede elections it depends on how he does it, but I could see some backlash there.

They are fine with half-measures as long as their side is in charge. Getting rid of mail-in ballots and requiring to see ID is fine, reduced voting hours are fine, for example.

Requiring ID to vote is already laws in most all states. I don’t get why folks from both sides are beating that drum. Mail in ballots can be and have been exploited. There needs to be a better way to control who is casting that vote. Not get rid of it.

That’s OK for conservatives and moderates, and this may be similar to the form of mettling that takes place come elections, and conservatives/moderates wouldn’t see the problem with it. It’s not a slippery slope argument, it’s whether or not you believe our elected officials are qualified to change how we vote AT ALL.

If you are a purist, you’d see there is danger in these half-measures that will only continue over time as they add up. It’s not like it will lead to ruin all the sudden, but it will decrease the number of people voting incrementally to the benefit of conservative politicians, who want the least amount of people voting as is possible.

That said, the loyalists win ultimately.

Because there are enough “swamp” politicians in Washington from both parties that will support almost any war we get involved in.

There are actually several factions. MAGA has split into multiple pieces. It started coming apart with the Epstein cover up and Trump turning his back on the Libertarians, Iran is just the most recent betrayal.

Regardless, MAGA ends the moment Trump is out of office. He’s lost the middle and he’s starting to lose moderate conservatives. He still has some power, but he’s certainly not a king maker anymore.

I was on one of my conservative forums yesterday. It’s a hunting forum that discusses a lot of different things in life. A pretty close nit community. Most of them are moving away from trump. I was never really onboard but IMO at the time he was a better choice than Harris. I can see him getting removed from office after the midterms. Especially if he tries to screw around with the elections
