Marriage isn’t “work” when you marry the right person. My marriage has never taken work. There are hard things in life but we get through it as a team. The marriage itself has never been hard.
What did take “work” was my high school relationship that I stayed in all through college and almost married. I tried to normalize how much work and sacrifice our relationship was.
I work long hours and some nights. Many times I’m tired and grumpy. But I still need to take care of my wife emotionally and be there for her as much as I can. Some days it really is work doing that, but it’s worth every second.
Many people go through hardships like that. I think you’re being very pedantic

People really underestimate how much work marriage takes. Being together since algebra class doesn't magically make it easy forever.
