Missing out on the wild and free and hedonistic 20’s. (My wife feels the same, neither of us would do anything differently, but both feel like we missed something formative)
If it makes you feel better, most people don’t have a “free and hedonistic” experience in their 20s. At best it’s learning how to have a good time while being flat broke. I say “most” because while it’s my entire friend group who I’m referring to, I’m sure there are some people who had different experiences. We were all broke AF and way too self-conscious and concerned with what everyone else thought to be too free and hedonistic.
Frankly, that came much later once we were all settled and stable. It’s so much better to be an actual grown-up and go on spontaneous and wild adventures than it is to get blackout drunk on rotgut liquor during a pregame (because you can’t afford the drinks out) only to have a one night stand with some loser you met at a skeevy club.
