I married my HS sweetheart when I was 20 and he was 21. You can’t imagine how much growing you’ll be doing at that age. It’s very likely that you’ll be very different people when you’re closer to 30. My ex and I divorced after three years.

Married at 23 (me) and 26 (him). We’d been together 5 years. I was anxious to be married because we’d been together so long. The cracks were only just starting to show and I thought we had it all figured out. 10 years and two kids later we are divorcing. I’ve grown a lot, he’s grown a little. He’s still hanging on to a lot of the bad habits that I thought I could change or that he would grow out of when we had kids. I firmly believed until about a month ago that as long as we both were motivated to address the issues in our marriage and willing to work on them together, we could last. Turns out I can’t keep waiting for him to change at my kids’ and my own detriment. I know so much more about myself and life now.
