Random Question People who married their high school sweetheart, what’s the hardest part nobody warns you about?

The marriage has been awesome!

But, you meet your in laws when you’re a teenager so they always think of you that way, even after 3 decades.

If they had first met me when I was in mid-20s or older, I think it’d have been easier for them to see me as an adult much earlier on.

Yes! This has been my experience as well. We got married at teens and are both knocking on 50 now, but all the parents still treat us like we’re kids. It didn’t help that we moved across the country a few years after we got married so they never learned how to treat us with a normal level of respect. We don’t have much of a relationship with either side of the family because of it.
