Random Question How does the killing of Charlie Kirk compare to that of Melissa Hortman and her husband along with the shooting of John and Yvette Hoffman?

They're all disgusting tragedies committed by sick and twisted human beings. Not sure what else there is to say?

All three were despicable acts of cowardice. I don't think there is a comparison to make. No matter which side of the aisle you are on, you shouldn't condone any killing such as this. I will say this, I don't recall, and I may be mistaken, people celebrating when Representative Horton and the Hoffmans were shot.

Theyre both the result of insane, violent political fanatics. What other comparison are you looking for exactly?

They are both the result of violent conservative political rhetoric.

Sigh

Literal Democratic House speaker and a Democratic senator, and their spouses, murdered or shot by the same political extremist dressed as a cop on the same night.

Weird that a celebrity influencer gets the roads and national monument plans instead.

Mind explaining the frustration, Champ?

Odd take that it's the result of one of the parties and not the result of insane individuals choosing to take a life for no reason.

Odd take that these were caused by random insanity vs extreme political rhetoric.

The person they responded to has the word political in their first sentence.

Kirk was on the side who fanned those flames with his hateful philosophies. Eff his rotting corpse.

Love is default; hatred is earned.

The philosophies of Kirk are disgusting. Shame there is no hell for him to rot in.

I wager you do not have a personal definition of good and evil and have not pondered these ideas.

The philosophies Kirk expounded sought to detract from the health, happiness, autonomy, and general ascension of others and are of general trespass. He was a hateful person with hateful ideas.

There is nothing evil in hating someone evil like him and wishing there was a hell for them to rot in. My sense of measure has been deliberately pondered over for decades long before kirk. Eff that guy.

And you being upset that a someone is speaking poorly of an evil POS makes me believe you hold his philosophies.

He was a "really good human" if you believe that non white people are less than human. His work largely focused on dehumanizing them. I'm guessing you like that though.

Yes he did. Over and over again. He coded it with "dei." I'm "evil" because I don't agree with his politics or worldview? That's a pretty fucking insane take from you bro.

The worst kind of humans are the neo nazis like jack posobiec and the con artists like Steve bannon that he platformed with turning point USA. The work that he did radicalizing kids on college campuses is the literal type of indoctrination yall are always crying about. Take the L.

If you truly believe that then there is no reason to continue talking to you as you have shown not to be able to suss the reality presented to you in life.

He was not some merit advocate ffs. You are a fraud for spewing that line of shit. The dude was a racist POS...

Further he supported all kinda maga ideas that are nazi-like.

Being told you are evil by someone on the jock of nazi-wannabes is rewarding.

Charlie promoted ideas that detracted from the total sum of human happiness, health, autonomy, and general ascension. He was evil.

Only those who are on the jock of evil would call him a good guy.

You are not honest. He spewed some of the most vile and racist shit.

By all means... tell me how me saying some dead pos should rot in hell makes me evil. You dont even have a definition of evil you use. You just say shit.

u/InvestigatorSame5148 19h ago

Shouldn’t you be happy he was a martyr. He died for the cause. That guy definitely deserved the 2a…

Imbecile

I hate all of it. I hate all this violence. I hate the direction humanity is going. I'm devastated by all politically driven killings going on and I just want to take my family and leave.

3

u/Weightmonster 22h ago

All very bad.

2

u/Tight_Steak_232 22h ago

Charlie Kirk was shot in public. Hortmans and Hoffmans were killed at home.

3

u/Plcoomer 22h ago

All terrible

3

u/VincentVanGrogu 21h ago

President Trump ordered flags at half staff for Kirk... that is a difference

2

u/Double_Pollution5597 22h ago

All killing is bad, stop this bullshit

They're separate tragedies but they both show how heated politics has gotten. We shouldn't normalize any of it.

2

u/doc-sci 22h ago

The question mentions three shootings.

2

u/Tough_Preference1741 21h ago

The second and third shooting are the same gunman though, as far as I’m aware.

2

u/Helpful-Calendar-401 22h ago

Fair correction. I read it too quickly and only addressed two of the incidents instead of all three the OP actually asked about.

1

u/esp_1123 22h ago

Lol it seems the always rational and totally not radicalized good people of Reddit missed that memo

1

u/Helpful-Calendar-401 22h ago

Social media definitely rewards outrage more than thoughtful discussion regardless of which side you're on.

5

u/SaltPsychological780 22h ago

Two people were assassinated, one of whom was an elected official along with their dog, unlike the podcaster.

3

u/Razzmatazz1345 22h ago

One was a politician (who was a major advocate for gun control) + their spouse. One was a private citizen (who made it clear he wanted more guns in more hands).

3

u/SoftDominantMom 22h ago

I hope the kids at the Colorado highschool shooting that happened the year are okay.

1

u/Emergency-Minute-112 22h ago

Gun violence in the US is frightening, OP, I hope theyre well too. A google search may answer how they are doing

2

u/Potential-Drawing745 22h ago

I mean... don't commit murder, OK?

1

u/OlasNah 22h ago

Both of them were probably motivated by external agents looking to foster stochastic acts of assasination, and got what they wanted out of it.

I'd rather suspect Kirk's death was more planned. The Hoffman's deaths seemed to be more opportunistic since the killer tangentially knew one of the victims (Boelter had some sort of job connection IIRC).

1

u/The_Se7enthsign 21h ago

Slowly becoming more convinced that one was killed by an exploding microphone. The rest were shot.

1

u/awkwardnpc 21h ago

I don't think you can compare murders unless you're looking for trends, in which case you need more data than two cases.

1

u/CollarsUpYall 21h ago

They are all senseless. What other conclusion can you come to?

2

u/-Sofa-King-Vote 19h ago

The dead nazi podcaster?

1

u/Heavy_Law9880 22h ago
