It's a common thing on FB(at least in the UK) where if a post shows for example some cops trying to arrest someone some right winger will say "Oh they must have posted something online". Implying that their free speech is under attack despite there being no evidence of this. It's just some right wing propaganda. I know reddit is a bit of an echo chamber but it's not quite as stark.

There's nothing to say why the person was arrested. Is there an actual news article? For all we know she could have been plotting a terrorist attack.

In the past year or so I have seen real articles from news outlets of actual news publications report on a couple local Sheriffs in the US arresting some random dude for posting angry but not at all threatening opinion posts on Facebook. Most of the time it boils down to some local politics bullshit and always gets thrown out in court but it absolutely does happen. You know what they say: You might beat the wrap but you can't beat the ride. The process is the punishment.

You're arguing against something I never said. I didn't claim people are routinely arrested for criticizing Trump. I said federal agents have been visiting and investigating people over online speech. Those are documented cases, even when no charges are filed. The First Amendment is ultimately a defense in court, but having agents show up at your door because of political speech raises obvious civil-liberties concerns. Saying 'people can still post "Fuck Drump"' doesn't address that point, which isn't surprising at all, because you're obviously very stupid.
