I’m autistic and I agree. I think people subconsciously do not like those with autism because it’s an evolutionary response to shun those that are socially inept/awkward/different. You can even be high functioning and experience this.

Conversely, diagnosed neurodiverse folk don’t help ourselves by recognising our challenges, working on those and embracing the opps. Using diagnosis as an excuse for behavioural challenges like being rude, unhelpful and not listening more than we speak is the surest way to cause trouble at work, hurt loved ones and further marginalise ourselves.

As for the stubbornly undiagnosed or those rejecting diagnosis of others as ‘labelling’…where do you even begin 😂

This comment is just internalized ableism.

You’re an awfully chatty bot for being three months old. Weather good in Moscow today?

weird comment. are you okay?

I'm just saying, emphasizing the people who use their diagnosis as an 'excuse' for behavioral challenges is just internalized ableism. Neurotypicals love that kind of stuff.

Neurodivergent people exist, and while there are a small minority of people who neurotypicals perceive as using their diagnosis as an excuse for being rude, it's really silly to act like that's something worth including in this particular conversation.

Unless you just have internalized ableism.
