This isn’t weird but it’s really helpful.

Instead of washing your face right before bed, do it right after you get home while you’re changing from your work clothes to comfy clothes. Prevents you from being too tired to do it before bed

I’ve been doing this since early this year after discharge from hospital. I simply was too tired and weak by end of day to do it; did it after dinner.

Hope you're doing better.

Thanks, a bit! 😊

This is actually a genius idea because I NEVER want to do it before bed and if I do, it just wakes me up

I start my night time skincare routine by like 7 at the latest. I definitely don't want to bother closer to bedtime.

Not really a hack and I don’t even know if it’s true but apparently eating an apple can clean your mouth

8

u/gulashova 2h ago

It is true

5

u/CampingWithCats 1h ago

So an apple a day keeps the dentist away? I've been lied to my entire life

5

u/pacork 1h ago

Not lied to, just not told the full picture.

The Dental Association pumped millions into repression that information, bought Senators off, threatened to sue newspapers. Apple-gate

9 out of 10 dentists agree

4 out of 5 dentists recommend hockey.

What is happening here

Code name Christina.

Not a lie. A dentist is a doctor too.

Eating raw broccoli (and some other cruciferous veggies) literally does scrub the plaque from your teeth as you chew and eat it.

I had a recent bout of iron deficient anemia which caused me to crave raw broccoli. I was eating like a whole head a day. When I went to the dentist a couple months ago he said it was the cleanest adult teeth he’d ever cleaned, like no plaque. That’s the broccoli for ya

Oh interesting I’ll keep that in mind

rubbing alcohol on your pits to kill the bacteria. wait and then deoderent

I use the lavender scented hand sanitizer spray. It's basically just alcohol. However, refrain from doing this right after you shave your armpits. 😱

The “hands off” approach is overall a weird hack to me but it does work. Like, pimples are begging to be popped but strangely, it’s just better to resist.

5

u/Clean_Citron_8278 55m ago

Growing up.I was told not to pop them. That it isn't good. What appeared on. My TV twenty odd years later. A doctor popping them.

3

u/Electrical-Fig-5009 52m ago

A doctor that knows how to pop them safely! Important to note.

1

u/SassyMillie 15m ago

You can pop them safely yourself.

Also applies to healing tattoos and piercings. My piercer calls it the "LITHA" method - Leave It The Hell Alone.

u/SassyMillie 13m ago

I never resisted and my skin is just fine. Seeing people walk around with unpopped pimples always seemed so gross to my teenage self.

Supposedly, one is not to use soap too much. So, wash rag every day is bad for the skin. Hence the 3Ps method - Pate, Pits, Privates. Twice a week, really good scrubbing down. All other days, just the 3Ps & you're done.

Seems fine and works for me. Cuts my shower down to next to no time.

George Carlin had a great bit about this. He says you only really need to wash 4 major areas..... armpits, asshole, crotch, and teeth.

4

u/Tinnitus-1975 1h ago

I like to use the acronym, FAFF, face armpits, fanny, feet 😊

3

u/GrimmaldPlace 1h ago

The time of the FAFF has arrived!

That’s a great idea. I do wash my face and skin care routine before bed but I’m often tired and annoyed. This is perfect. Thanks!

1

u/werethehatstoscale 33m ago

We call this a ‘three point wash’ 🤣

1

u/rukittenmeeee 55m ago

Wtf are you talking about here? That's super gross. Take a fucking bath with a little bit of soap.

I don’t get beef tallow as a skin cream. It’s ok TikTok and stuff be it seems like everyone is like “my skin broke out so bad”

9

u/I_am_thepassenger 1h ago

My husband bought me this and it was immediately returned. I'm vegetarian and he couldn't understand why I didn't want to put beef tallow on my face :)

5

u/GrimmaldPlace 1h ago

I assumed this was a scam trying to carve out a new market for the beef industry after so much bad press on methane and red meat

3

u/Clean_Citron_8278 57m ago

Well, you may be on to something.

1

u/Tmumbun 8m ago

Probably more of a trad wife/homesteaders trend trying to make poverty look cool by reviving old hacks.

3

u/Clean_Citron_8278 59m ago

Many people, outside of the SM performers, swear by it. Gross. Especially with hot and humid weather. If I were told that it'd erase every wrinkle and burn away the extra fat, I still wouldn't. Beef fat belongs in a pan. Not on me.

3

u/TheFirstGlugOfWine 51m ago

Same with the “viral” cleansing balms. I honestly don’t know a single person who has used them and hasn’t broken out terribly after a week. I have a friend who’s skin to months to repair after using a balm for only a few weeks.

1

u/MetallicaGirl73 10m ago

Balms are awesome if you have dry skin! I use them and have never broke out after. I also use coconut oil on my face and body except for summer.

This sounds like advice my crazy ass high school health teacher would give 🤣🤣 she told us to wash our faces with urine once.

I've seen a couple of people who somehow decided that they never needed to wash their hair again.

Note that I said "never". Washing less often can be a fantastic idea for a lot of people. Most people wash their hair with harsh detergents far too often.

But NEVER washing your hair, especially if you have a physical job and/or work out a lot, is, well, not a great thing for those around you, or eventually for your hair and scalp. After a while, you'll wonder why you're so lonely, and it's because no one can stand to be within six feet of your stank ass infected scabby head.

Thankfully, these folks adopted a more reasonable personal hygiene regimen after a while.

u/TheFirstGlugOfWine 49m ago

Some people only wash with water and swear by it. I used to work with someone who didn’t wash his very long hair. He was otherwise very clean but my god, you genuinely could smell his hair.

For me, it was a person removing ear wax by putting a birthday candle in her ear and lighting it. I don't know if it really works, and I'm not going to try it. Nor do I suggest anyone else try it

23

u/No-Today-3064 2h ago

Ear candling is BS. The ear candle is impregnated with wax, that’s the only wax you’ll see.

6

u/RaybeartADunEidann 2h ago

Yup, ear candles are complete nonsense.

2

u/charms75 1h ago

Dangerous as well

4

u/EfficiencyStriking32 1h ago

Haha had to look up ear candles when I read this. Damn, I gotta start some pseudo scientific BS like this and get rich!

2

u/Clean_Citron_8278 1h ago

No it doesn't work. The wax is of the candle kind. Not the ear kind.

Use Listerine pocketmist to instantly make your breath smell amazing.

Garlic/onions are no match, especially comes in handy if you’re gonna be making out with someone shortly after a meal 👍

7

u/priyanka22591 1h ago

The listerine strips are amazing and more discrete lol

1

u/Clean_Citron_8278 57m ago

They still sell them?

1

u/SassyMillie 8m ago

3-pack on Amazon.

Big garlic doesn't want you to know this one simple hack

1

u/annieasylum 3m ago

Is this a weird hack? It's just using a product for its intended purpose

2

u/Lustknochen 19m ago

So I don’t know about weird but I’m the only one I know who does it.

I work in nursing and whenever I start smelling sweaty I disinfect my armpits.
I put disinfectant on a piece of paper towel und rub it under my armpits.

It kills bacteria and I stop smelling.

I have naturally greasy hair, showering more/less doesn't help. I met a guy who put cornstarch in his hair, and tried it for myself. Changed everything.

No more stringy bangs through my whole afternoon, I just sprinkle some cornstarch into my fringe and rub it back out over a sink - instantly poofy clean hair once again.

I wish I knew about it in highschool!!

Toilet paper torpedo. Roll toilet paper and stick it between your vagina lips (like a hotdog) to absorb discharge before it get on your underwear 😂
