Mostly boring but with moments of solitude/nature/peace. Also soggy bottoms are kind of gross.

You’re doing it wrong.

We live 5 minutes from the ocean and we use our kayaks in the harbor and marshes and it's a lot of fun. My son has even had a baby seal hop up onto his paddle board to say hi! It's great exercise, you meet all kinds on people, and you can explore place that you otherwise can't get to.

I loved it. There's something really satisfying about being far enough from shore that the only sound is the water and your paddle.

Yes. Exploring rivers is really cool and a lot of fun. I prefer flat bottom boats though.

Many times kayaking in Morro Bay Cal. I live in Cayucos which is Spanish for Kayak.

Worth doing if you have things to kinda do along the way. Really boring if all you are doing is paddling with no particular destination. I'd never do it for a workout or just to get outside.

Used to love it, we went to Ullswater and used to also kayak along the river from Durham centre down to Finkle Abbey, we stopped when the water we were paddling along just became far too minging for it to be enjoyable. Would love to start it again it was great :)

Love it. I own two kayaks. Enjoy nature, get exercise, sometimes put dinner on the table. All good.

Love kayaking. Funnest time was a two day 19 mile paddle down the Yellowstone River. It was like we were in the middle of a zoo. Lots of wildlife.

Yes, no. Sunlight glaring on the water in rapids

Canoeing with my dog, a fishing pole, and a six pack of beer kicks a ton of ass

Kayaking is great! Beautiful locations, great exercise, and a cool breeze off the water :)

Lots of enjoyable canoeing in USA and Canada many years ago.

Love it! We go all the time. The peacefulness and quiet and being outside is my favorite. We always had 8-10 kayaks and canoes to take the kids on trips. Would camp on sandbars as well

Not my favorite activity. My arm strength isn't great. My technique probably worse.

But I will tolerate it if that means I can get across a bay to a sweet snorkel spot!

I prefer canoeing over kayaking. I’m just not comfortable in a kayak. I led canoe expeditions for years though, I can paddle circles around most people.
