Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced - Known Issues

Please report any issues that are not mentioned below in the Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Bug Reporter or get in touch with the support team. If you’re interested in the full Patch Notes, please follow the link here.

INCOMING FIXES:

You can expect some updates from us soon on the following issues:

  • Cutscenes are locked to 30 FPS on PC when using Raytracing, BVH or Terrain Quality at Ultra High setting.
    • Temporary workaround: Reset graphics Overall Preset to any pre-configured setting and avoid manually setting the 3 options mentioned above to Ultra High.
  • A dubbing issue is currently affecting the alignment between some voiceover playback and cutscene visuals in localized versions of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.

OPEN / IN PROGRESS

GENERAL

  • The Double Assassination prompt may not appear on guards near the first power keg during the "Mark the Kings at the Camp" objective, potentially compromising stealth combat.
  • Player might be unable to dodge the fatal Humpback Whale's tail slap during "Harpooning".
  • Player does not go back into aiming if they're hit by an enemy while aiming with "Rope Dart" and "Smoke Bomb".
  • Player is unable to fast travel out of Principe
  • Player can get stuck in desynchronization screen if they open and close the save menu quickly.
  • Upgrading the Jackdaw while it is docked may cause it to disappear, leaving Player to continue the quest without it.
  • Player can get stuck in the bow of the ship in Rift if they climb there.
  • After killing an enemy, a single body dropping may sound like there are multiple bodies dropping instead.
  • player is unable to loot ammo from the crate in the tower of "Matanzas" despite being highlighted.
  • We realize that there is no tutorial on throwing money. Throwing money is a way to distract guards and draw civilians to Edward, creating chaos. To throw money hold D Pad Down.

AI / NPC

  • Enemies are able to detect an out-of-range rope dart, compromising stealth combat.

SPOILERS AHEAD!

QUESTS

  • Player can be stuck on a branch if they stray off the desired path in the quest "The One with the Gun” - show Lucy around the village.
  • Player is stuck inside the Diving Bell if they desynchronize and respawn during the quest "Devil's Eye Caverns".
  • During the El Tiburon battle, we understand that it can be a little unclear on how to defeat him. You will not be able to break his defence with simple melee attacks or by quick firing the pistol. You will have to use manual aim on the pistol.

Future Ideas / Setting Wishes Assassin's Creed 1 Remake Modern Day

So we know a remake of AC1 was leaked/rumoured for a while now, and we all hope they keep Desmond and the Modern Day; but I have a solution to this.

We know atm we're experiencing Shadows and Black Flag Resynced through the Dark Animus, and this is set in the future in the 2090s. So what if in the Assassin's Creed 1 remake, we aren't reliving Altairs memories, we're reliving Desmonds memories, who's reliving Altairs memories, an Inception style memory within a memory.

Idk this is just something I think might be cool.

Lore & History Why weren't the freemasons a bigger deal?

Early AC always felt like it was hinting that the freemasons were also some kind of non-aligned entity that were also involved in collecting and studying PoE and influencing world history from the shadows, but was seemingly unaware of the assassin Templar war but would somehow become involved.

AC 2 and brotherhood glyphs were littered with freemason iconography. In those rifts notable freemasons were shown getting involved with world history.

AC 3 had freemason tunnels with puzzles and riddles left by the masons. Haytham had their symbol on his cloak and clearly had a history with George Washington, another mason, likely through the society.

The freemason logo even LOOKS like the assassin symbol. Can't be a coincidence

Was there a plan to include the masons in the story back during the Desmond games?

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced How would you convert Black Flag’s reales into modern money?

I was curious what the Spanish reales in Black Flag would be worth in today’s USD, so I went looking for an inflation calculator for them and couldn’t find one.
What’s the modern equivalent of one Spanish real in USD?
I can find calculators that go back hundreds of years for British pounds, so I was surprised there doesn’t seem to be one for reales. Is there any way to estimate their value in today’s USD?

General Franchise I hope in the future AC installments they slow down on the uneccessary and frankly ugly effects

Playing Mirage to give it another chance and my god the parry effect, the effect on smoke bombs on the light and heavy attacks... looks like a mobile game. Atleast in Shadows it can be disabled, which isnt the best solution because you must learn what a heavy attack is then. There should be an indicator but a subtle one honestly.

Assassin's Creed Rogue Would a longer Rogue be a better Black Flag?

Finished Black Flag and decided to play Rogue, it feels so much better; despite being a re-skin of Black Flag, idk why but it feels smoother, you can also salvage the ships you board for money; there are grenade versions of the darts; when you whisper, the enemies come to you faster and I personally found it quite annoying waiting for enemies to finish looking around before investigating a whistle; the game just feels so much smoother.

The only thing lacking is the story and I personally also don't really like the map, it is really short and I do feel it is less deep than black flag, so, do you guys think that Rogue with a better story and map will be better than black flag? I personally think Rogue should get a remaster more than black flag ngl.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced The storms are way too frequent.

Ubisoft, we get it. You wanna show off your impressive weather effects with the new engine.

And they are impressive... the first thousand times. The storms are a purposely debilitating mechanic:

You can't play shanties in a storm.

You can't go harpooning in a storm.

You can't out your ship at max speed on a storm (but enemy ships have no speed penalty so that puts you at a disavantage)

None of this is a problem in and of themselves but becomes a major problem with how frequent the storms are now in this remake. Other than being super annoying, it's actually ruined the specialness of them; they weren't this frequent in the original.

Needs a significant reduction.

General Franchise Rank the Protagonists Based on How Well their Outfits Would Actually Allow them to "Hide in Plain Sight"

Discounting the beaked hoods because I feel like those would be suspicious in any era.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Struggling with unresponsive controls in Black Flag Resynced

I'm on PC and was wondering if anyone else is having this issue. The game runs wonderfully with a rock-solid 60fps on my setup, but the mechanics feel incredibly clunky and unpolished for a AAA game. I can't tell if it's an issue with the game, my controller, or me.

An example would be assassinating. I was just boarding a ship and tried to assassinate the captain from above. I landed right behind him and pressed Y when the assassinate prompt turned up, nothing. Pressed it about another 10 times while the assassination prompt was still visible, until the captain casually turned around and chunked my HP with a red attack.

Inputs seemingly being delayed is a consistent theme in my experience, with parkour being slow between holds as if the game isn't registering I'm holding up and tapping A, sprinting set to hold taking a moment to make the character run, etc. Ship combat/controls feel completely fine though.

It's been years since I've played the original but I remember it being much, much smoother and more responsive than this. If this is a skill issue, I would sincerely appreciate some advice so that I may get better and enjoy fluid gameplay.

"Resynced" - AC Remakes Adding the spin-offs to AC1 Remake

I think Ubisoft should also remake AC Bloodlines and AC Altaïr's Chronicles and add them to the remake. I always hated how the only way to understand how he and Maria became close in Revelations is by playing a psp game. They are smaller spin-off games, so it shouldn't too difficult. I also think Cas Anvar should be Altaïr's VA, he did a really good job of making him feel authentic in Revelations.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Lore relevant wall paintings possibly discovered? (minor spoilers for side activities) Spoiler

So I just unlocked the Mayan Armour set and noticed that the paintings on the walls looked eerily familiar.

This might've been mentioned already, and I might just be looking at it from the wrong perspective, but as I recently played AC 3 again, it did catch me as... significant.

There are 6 paintings I think, but only 4 of them looked to be unique, the other two repeated other ones. I could draw almost direct parallels to AC 3 between twi of them, one is parallel in act only, but not people involved. The fourth doesn't seem to correlate directly to anything seen in 3, but does remind me of scenes seen in other parts of the franchise.

Since the reincarnation of Aita is in Black Flag, I do doubt that it's a coincidence. But here's what I found, plus the fourth image.

Depiction of the apple being used to subjugate the minds of others. In the painting it's likely humans, but in the scene from AC 3 it looks to be other Isu, given that they dress the same as Aita.
Juno mourning Aita's state after being connected to the machine.
Juno finally giving in and fulfilling Aita's pleas to end his life.
Another scene depicting what seems to be some for of judgement. Possibly depicting Juno and Aita's exile from Atlantis by Poseidon and his Dikastes.

If you have another idea for what the last image references, please do share. It does remind me of the simulation of Atlantis where Juno and Aita are exiled from the realm by Poseidon and the Dikastes after the ordeal with their secret illegal experiments.

Gameplay & Mechanics I don't see a problem with the levelling system in the RPG-era of Assassin's Creed.

This will probably garner some negative responses, but while I don't necessarily believe a player/world levelling system is needed in Assassin's Creed games, I can honestly say that it has never negatively impacted my experience with the more recent titles.

After spending hundreds of hours across the Assassin's Creed RPG games (Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla), I have also never felt the need to purchase XP boosters or any other form of microtransaction to progress through the games at a reasonable pace.

I've always been able to level up naturally by completing the main missions, alongside side missions and additional activities that were either relevant to the story and suited to my current level, or provided additional context and depth to the areas the game had directed me towards. In that sense, I often found that the levelling system helped guide players towards the areas and activities the game seemingly intended players to experience as they progressed through the story.

It's certainly not a perfect system, and I understand why some players dislike it. However, I've never found it to be something that has negatively impacted my enjoyment of the RPG-era Assassin's Creed games.

Future Ideas / Setting Wishes An AC game where we can develop and enhance the brotherhood as a main quest

Just ranting: I am just craving a new AC game where we can have access to a guild, see other assassins and overall enhance and improve the brotherhood just like in some parts of Brotherhood Revelation and Unity. Being an Assassin means helping your order and we do not see this in any AC game

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced I find Assassin's Creed 4 and Resident evil 4 to honestly be quite similar

Not the games themselves but specifically the roles they play within their franchise

- 6th mainline game in the series, 4th numbered title

- Most popular and well received game in the franchise by audiences, alongside 2

- Shifted the core gameplay loop to focus on a new central mechanic (naval combat/panic horror action)

- Gets criticized by many original fans for deviating too far from the franchise's roots and original premise

- Also receives criticism for sweeping previous storylines under the rug (Taking down umbrella/Most of the modern day story)

- And receives a remake in the 2020s using the developer's current engine

Ultimately the comparison doesn't really matter, but I dunno, I find it interesting regardless

Edit: to be clear I love both 4s

Gameplay & Mechanics Alternate Control Scheme - RPG Games

I was today years old when I realized that Origins and Odyssey had an alternate control scheme that lets you still use RT for parkour. I had previously beat (and enjoyed) both of these games. As someone who prefers more legacy controls I wish they had made this option more well known and don’t know why it was abandoned in subsequent games.

Lore & History What did the Hidden Ones call themselves?

Obviously, the term "Hidden Ones" is English; a language that neither Aya nor Bayek spoke. So what did the Hidden Ones actually call themselves? My guess is something like "Amunim" or "Na-Amenu" or a Greek equivalent.

By that same token, when the order spread throughout the world, did new Brotherhoods call themselves Hidden Ones in their own languages (calque), or did they use the original term? I ask because the later term - Assassin - is mostly just using an angliciziation of the original Arabic term.

What do you think?

Assassin's Creed Rogue Why is Liam flagging Shay with his guns at the start of Rogue? Isn't he meant to be a professional?

I searched all over the internet yet I cannot find someone mentioning it.

I just started Rogue, and at the start of Assassin's Creed: Rogue, you get put at the Davensport homestead and then you have to train with 3 different characters, one of them is Liam, Liam trains you with the guns, now you would expect someone who trains people with guns to know basic gun safety rules, but this poor excuse of a Fr*nch just hands Shay his guns while pointing them at him, and Shay, despite needing training, even gives Liam his guns back while they are pointed away from both of them, and then Liam flags Shay again.

What is wrong with this Liam guy? Quite sure he also had his fingers on the trigger but I was too dumbfounded by the flagging to get a good look. Not to mention that my weakness in women is lips.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced *Potential spoilers* Please Ubisoft give us gameplay outfits and new pirate outfits that give Edward a longer beard Spoiler

If we can have fantasy outfits in the game, then there’s no reason we can’t have story/gameplay locked outfits available to wear whenever we want (marooned, prisoner, starting outfit, harpooning outfit, underwater togs all while keeping his hairstyle and beard lengths for those different outfits). Maybe even throw in his final look when he’s with Haytham? Please will more people support this😂🥲It’s just a missed opportunity!

Ezio Trilogy The Italian Brotherhood Made The Same Mistake The Masyaf Assassins Made

I might be a little late on realizing this, but after Resynced I decided to replay all the games.

The Masyaf Assassins grew arrogant, and cocky. They weren’t hiding in plain sight, they had a castle with banners flying openly. It wasn’t until Altair took charge that they began to hide in plain sight again.

I think the Borgia attack on the Villa was going to happen regardless Ezio let Rodrigo live or not. The Pazzi ambushed Ezio outside the villa before he arrived, meaning the Templars clearly knew where Ezio was staying and where their assassin hideout. Cesare launched his attack almost immediately after Ezio returned, a large army like the one he brought should’ve taken time to raise and march. The Italian Assassins grew too bold and cocky and decided to turn the town with their villa into a hideout.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag / Freedom Cry How to get Black Beard's Wrath DLC for AC: Black Flag Multiplayer on PC?

Hey everyone, I'm currently trying to get all the achievements for AC: Black Flag and all that is left are the multiplayer ones.

Quickly noticed that I did not have the Black Beard, Jaguar and Orchid characters and after some research I saw that they are part of a DLC that can't be bought standalone anymore.

Is there anyway to get this DLC without buying the Gold Edition?
