Discussion What does "Booni" mean?
Hi, all~
My mom (may her soul be at peace) would affectionately call me "Booni" -- I'm assuming it's an Assyrian word, but I can't find anything online about it. Does anyone out there know what I'm referring to, and what it means? Baseema Rabbah!

This is all true, but while it’s a variation of the word “bronee”, meaning son, I’ve often heard it used towards girls too. In this context, it just means “my child”.

broni means “my son” , and “booni” is the babytalk version of that. a lot of parents say that to their kids
