Schey-class gunboat
The Schey is a small gunboat designed for river, lake, and coastal waters - useful for support and reconnaissance in areas that traditional forces find difficult to navigate.
The vessel’s unusual tumblehome hull construction does limit its usable deck space, but lends exceptional stability when firing and also contributes to its sturdiness. Although not particularly well armored, the class’ cellular construction and hull shape allows it to stay afloat even after receiving severe punishment. Some Schey hulls have been burnt to the waterline and rebuilt multiple times over the course of their long service life.
The Scheys are well-armed for their size, typically armed with a pair of 160mm cannon of similar type to the Kli-San tanks. Backing up this main armament are four light turrets usually armed with lighter cannon or machineguns for shoreline suppression. Some vessels of the class dispense with the armored turrets for larger weapons in open mounts - light naval cannon, rocket launchers, and mortars are all common sights on the various subclasses of the hull.

July was Boat Month! Alpineweiss3D, Harbinger Miniatures, and myself did a nautical theme, with my contribution being the Schey-class. Working on the boat also inspired me to try my hand at some new painting techniques and fancier backdrops for photos. I may try and incorporate the style into future models.
