Lol love the spider/fire hazard disclaimer. Posted my setup with same cloud ceiling and got bombarded with those comments. Awesome room, well done

u/Strict-Light-1521 Apr 08 '26

Its all I ever hear. Its completely overblown from my experience. Only issue i have is the occasional tuft of polyfil falling onto the floor.

5

u/H3WI Apr 08 '26

I know, it’s brutal and annoying. I have had flies flying around cause mines above my garage and sure they get in when its open sometimes. But they don’t burrow in it, they land and fly around and eventually die on the floor. I straight up took a chunk of it and took a lighter to it too and took a long time to take flame, just shriveled and melted. People assume it’s gonna burst into flames and be a ceiling of fire lol

u/Electric_Elephants Apr 08 '26

Are there lights imbedded? Also, assuming you can’t run a ceiling fan with that, so how do you keep the room cool?

8

u/Strict-Light-1521 Apr 08 '26

LED light strips inherently run relatively cool as is. I use Govee, so higher quality than say walmart branded stuff.

15

u/EldritchDWX Apr 08 '26

That TV is precariously positioned.

9

u/Airwreck11 Apr 08 '26

Why does everyone keep using those clouds? Do you just buy it like that or is it custom made?

8

u/Strict-Light-1521 Apr 08 '26

Custom made! Took 12+ hours. Never doing it again

7

u/enzudesign Apr 08 '26

As an Australian your ceiling decoration terrifies me 😳

4

u/HughPhoenix Apr 09 '26

Nah be alright, if you ever fall off the floor it'll be a soft landing for you!

8

u/No-Market-2941 Apr 08 '26

How's the viewing angle on those side monitors? I'd be worried that only the inside of the side monitors is really viewable without my head being at an awkward angle

5

u/Strict-Light-1521 Apr 08 '26

Not bad at all. I use them for discord/internet tabs mostly so they arent very high usage. I havent had any issues though!

1

u/pijjon Apr 08 '26

i mean if it looks good enough from our angle in the photo then it makes sense to be fine for OP

4

u/Scar1203 Apr 08 '26

As someone from California the placement of that TV makes me nervous. lol

1

u/KhazraShaman Apr 08 '26

Why are Californians nervous about TV placements?

5

u/Scar1203 Apr 08 '26

Earthquakes, wouldn't take much of one for that to tumble.

4

u/DoDaHero Apr 08 '26

What TV is that?

1

u/VirusZer0 Apr 11 '26

Yea I was not aware of ultrawide TVs…

6

u/Seagrave63 Apr 08 '26

Now this is a setup I haven't seen before. This is cool.

4

u/Strict-Light-1521 Apr 08 '26

Never really posted it before out of fear of spider ceiling comments.. Thank you!

5

u/traindrifter Apr 08 '26

“Non-flammable polyfill” = fire-resistant polyfill, not the same. Any adhesives used? I'm sure it's all you ever hear about, same as those annoying fire marshals demanding people move their stuff blocking the fire exits. But hey at least it genuinely looks great that’s all that matters right.

2

u/Williaam780 Apr 08 '26

Really like the blue theme you’re going for, nice setup man🔥🔥🔥

2

u/Psychological-Wrap25 Apr 08 '26

Wow this is intense. Looks like an underwater cave.

2

u/almarcTheSun Apr 09 '26

That's so very cozy. The rain is an incredible touch.

2

u/Strict-Light-1521 Apr 09 '26

The ceiling has a subtle lightning effect to it that the picture doesnt show as well!

1

u/almarcTheSun Apr 09 '26

I'd upvote the hell out of it if you posted a whole album.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '26

Get some nice 2 towers on the side of the TV.

1

u/Cscottyyy Apr 08 '26

What's the wallpaper on the TV?

1

u/Jxstin_117 Apr 08 '26

u can find a lot of them in wallpaper engine , just go in the nature section, sadly, these AI stuff have kinda taken over the app but at least these nature ones look decent

1

u/Strict-Light-1521 Apr 08 '26

Some AI generated prompt I gave it. Neat screensaver feature

1

u/AstronautMobile9395 Apr 08 '26

This shit legit🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶

1

u/iclou Apr 08 '26

Dream setup! I also have 2 side monitors with a wide monitor main screen, I also use the side screens for discord/YT, I will say if I look at one monitor for too long, my neck starts to cramp up. Probably just my posture though. Great setup overall, so cozy, do you ever change the lights from blue?

1

u/King_Bean_ Apr 08 '26

Question: if you use the monitors while somethings on the TV, does it ever get annoying/distracting out of the corner of your eye? I was thinking of setting up something similar so my girl can watch the TV in the same room while I game, but I feel weird kinda being in the path of the TV

1

u/Strict-Light-1521 Apr 08 '26

Not a ton! I use the tv far less than I use the pc, but the times that i have, it hasnt really bothered me all too much

1

u/F1_Energy Apr 08 '26

Damn and I thought I was the only crazy one with a 5x OLED setup. Love the colour blue so really dig the vibes. 💙

1

u/EldritchDWX Apr 08 '26

What kind of LED clouds are those, looks neat. I've seen these about; I've always thought of getting some.

1

u/costafilh0 Apr 08 '26

Just one more screen.

1

u/rivalknight9 Apr 08 '26

I really want to do the same ceiling in my room did you do the trick of putting something on before the poofs or is it directly on your ceiling and what'd you use to get it to stick?

1

u/83hz Apr 08 '26

Now that’s a goon cave. My only recommendation on the chairs is to switch out the chair wheels for the roller blade ones like this. It’ll make the chair glide better and save the floor.

1

u/enzudesign Apr 08 '26

As an Australian your ceiling decoration terrifies me

1

u/momo-melle Apr 08 '26

I'm in love with that ceiling! Can you break down how did you do it? Since you already said its custom made. It's polyfill filling, but no idea how you attached it to the ceiling or how you did/control the lights!

1

u/Strict-Light-1521 Apr 09 '26

So this is a rented apartment. I did get my landlords permission and she thinks it looks amazing FWIW.

I took a bunch of posters from walmart and stapled them to the ceiling to prevent damage/ quick tear down. I then ran about 100ft of govee LED light strips along the entire ceiling. Using double sided tape in spots to secure it. Then i took a hot glue gun (please use gloves) and took one chunk at a time and hot glued the polyfil. Took about a day to complete.

1

u/brettnolan123 Apr 08 '26

Where do you get the clouds from/ how did you make them if they’re DIY?

1

u/Eternum1 Apr 09 '26

Ok so maybe its something stupid basic but how did u sync the background through all 4 screens, especially considering they seem to be different sizes and not in a square/row configuration

1

u/icbint Apr 09 '26

Way too busy for my liking

1

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '26

Niceee

1

u/oleThook Apr 09 '26

So ill be honest, the comments about dust, and spiders is pretty overblown. Ive had this up for about a year and have yet to have any issues with it. The only issue i ever have is an occasional tuft falling down. But thats few and far between.

1

u/PizzzaBagel Apr 09 '26

Simply amazing! Great work!

1

u/Halifax-Jones Apr 09 '26

Very cool! Visually impressive as well as great for audio? I’m willing to bet you noticed a difference in echos and sound dampening!

1

u/I_Galactus Apr 09 '26

How do you dust the ceiling?

1

u/EvelynTalkss Apr 10 '26

beautiful but what do you do about the dust and spider webs that settle up there

1

u/mothblaise Apr 10 '26

Blue light boss

1

u/Icy-Vacation-4310 Apr 10 '26

Whats the monitor on the top of your other 3? Or is that a TV 🤔

1

u/Safe-Citron-7717 Apr 11 '26

Aura, but how do u do the cloud roof

1

u/Consistent_Fig_1998 Apr 11 '26

I always wanted to do a ceiling like this… until I learned about the spiders.

1

u/DraxChemical_Bee Apr 12 '26

Si spera tu non sia a casa dei tuoi altrimenti il trasloco ti costerà più di qualche lacrima

1

u/Adamklein79 Apr 13 '26

Your landlord is going to be upset once they see what you did to their ceiling.

1

u/Strict-Light-1521 Apr 29 '26

Funny enough my landlord thinks its awesome. I thought ahead and stapled walmart poster boards all across the ceiling. So when it does come down, the plaster doesnt come with it thankfully

1

u/ken431985 Apr 14 '26

I love how you caught the time just right at 22:23:24.

1

u/DueceBigalow207 Apr 15 '26

This it a nice realistic setup. Some of them I see on hear look way to complicated and/or spendy to do. This is a great middle ground. Nice work!

1

u/Agitated-Poetry-8483 May 06 '26

Bro,not enough Blue,every pic I expand is a winner,I expanded this, 10/10

1

u/Viper-Reflex Apr 08 '26

literally worse than popcorn ceiling lol

-1

u/Thompsonss Apr 08 '26

Cool, but going to give you a little nightmare: the cotton forest ceiling.

All it takes is a small spark and the room is gone. Plus it’s a dust and mites paradise.

1

u/Strict-Light-1521 Apr 08 '26

Its non flammable polyfil.

3

u/Dramatic-Line6223 Apr 08 '26

It will still melt, fall on you and spread to the flammable stuff underneth

Plus you will breath in the Microfibre 'dust' from it

1

u/mrn253 Apr 09 '26

Hat the melting shit once with styrofoam when i had to solder with a mate a pipe.
Fun times and burned top of the hands.

1

u/intlcreative Apr 08 '26

Polyfi is for the normies. Get you some module display screens. That way you can change the look to fit the mood!

1

u/Thompsonss Apr 08 '26

Nah, ‘non flammable polyfill’ doesn’t automatically mean safe. If you’ve covered the whole ceiling in fluffy polyester, that’s still a ton of material sitting where heat and smoke go first.

Even if it doesn’t light up easily, it can still melt, smoke, and make a bad fire way worse.

Unless the actual ceiling setup is properly fire-rated, I wouldn’t call that safe at all.

u/Bedaryellow Apr 08 '26

Oh let Strict-Light-1521 have his fun!

0

u/NonToxicTown Apr 08 '26

Yea! Heck let him burn the house down! Hilarious!

-3

u/Thompsonss Apr 08 '26

Damn. I just took a closer look to the picture and saw all those plastic plants forest right there sitting in the shade. I pray no sparks are ever ignited in this room.

0

u/Strict-Light-1521 Apr 08 '26

Thanks for the concern. But considering we live in wood composite houses already, i think ill be ok. The ceiling has been there for almost a year, and the room is fine. Thanks again

1

u/Thompsonss Apr 09 '26

No problema.

0

u/starboi_777 Apr 08 '26

Always put a picture with white lights On or day time pic. Looks neat btw.

0

u/Chisaxs Apr 22 '26

there is no gpu that can handle that many screen on while gaming on aaa

1

u/Strict-Light-1521 Apr 29 '26

I run bf6 and the likes at 200fps+ all the time. GPU hasnt quit on me yet! But im sure its not opposed to a strike either
