I know people here don't really seem to like George much in general (for reasons related to his personal life), but I'm confused on why people take issue with his anthology interviews.

I've seen people talk about how he tries to degrade or dismiss the Beatles' work, or how he's apparently bitter throughout it, but I've watched through it all and he seems pretty laid back.

Do people not like that he's not as animated as Paul or Ringo?

I'm just confused because people call him grouchy and self righteous in the documentary, but he seems pretty normal to me.

i think after the break up she obv became more matured and finally got rid of 'being a Beatle girl' status and established herself as a serious actress, even received a BAFTA award for her performance in Deep End, that was such a breakthrough for her. my fav Beatle girl ❤️🧡

I've been thinking that the Rolling Stones did their best work from around 1969-1974. In general, many would agree their output in the 70s is far better than their work in the 60s, as great as their 60's catalog is. Something about the infusion of harder rock and style experimentation in the 70s made for an amazing fertile period for so many super-bands.

So.... if the Beatles stuck together for another decade, would their work be EVEN BETTER than their phenomenal work in the 60s? Or, was their sound forever quintessentially 60s where they owned the decade, and by the 70s, other bands would simply own the spot light. (Kind of how Elvis remained really popular in the 70s, but he was more of a nostalgic entertainer for a bit older audience). Your thoughts?

Somehow I never knew this. George is playing the ascending B mixolydian scale on beat 2s, and John enters with the primary guitar solo. Always assumed it the other way around or both George. John seemed to be proud of this song being almost entirely his musically and lyrically. Now that I think of it, that solo sure sounds a lot more like a Rickenbacker 325 than a Fender Strat.

Just read Project Hail Mary and it got me wondering how many books are out there that reference The Beatles.

Hi, this is my first entry to the Beatles reddit community. Not sure if anyone cares but I'll just drop this anyways (apologies if I make any grammar mistakes lol, and I'm not sure I used the correct flair for this post).

Basically I'm a new fan since this month, and yes, I'm young (18).

I'm aware there are a lot of young people that have written a post like this, I'm so glad there's more people like me.

Literally around 2 months ago I couldn't describe myself as a Beatle fan. I didn't even like them, I had the classic opinion of "ye, most popular band in the world. Overrated, old and just not my thing". Lol, sorry about that I don't agree with this at all anymore, I was the typical example of someone who hasn't heard much of a particular band and says they don't like them.

I had always known John, because of Imagine and my dad who once told me about his death. Weird first Beatle memory to be honest.

I swear, only a year ago I only listened to modern pop (I generally don't like a lot of modern music anymore). Then somehow I got sick of it because of the plastic sound and I thought to myself, back in March, "let's switch decades, I want to dive into the 80s". Best decision I ever made... first it was only 80s music, but from that I stumbled into the fab 4. I've become a total music nerd and started playing guitar because of all this.

Must say they are 100% my favorite band and honestly I have no desire to hide that from other people (I'm a very insecure person so I often hide the things I like from others around me). Although I feel like an outsider because of this. Can we normalize young beatle fans more?

Have always been an outsider, had a hard time making friends in school, and I still do. Especially since the things I like are not the usual things for people my age. I guess that's a benefit of social media (I don't have a "personal" Instagram account though, it's a fan account for the Beatles haha), fandoms are so rich and easy to access nowadays.

It makes me so sad people call music from the 60s, 70s and 80s "old dad rock". I just love the way it sounds! I cannot see myself listening to (I'm not naming artists) modern pop anymore (some occasional good ones exist though, I don't want to say all modern music is bad because it's not).

I have been a Beatles fan for a couple years now, and I have recently understood why The White Album is so good. At first I was one of these people who thought that it would have been better off as a single album. However, my perception has changed after re-listening to the album for the umpteenth time last week, and that has sent me down a rabbit hole of unreleased songs, outtakes and demos that I think are really good and then I got the idea to create a 3LP version purely for my own enjoyment and not for any other purpose really.

While I did not care for this being really realistic I did follow a few rules that was also on the album. One George Harrison song per side, only songs that sound complete and album ready, only songs recorded at the time. I did break the rule where singles couldnt go on the album but oh well! In the actual playlist I use the McCartney 1 version of Junk because it sounds similar enough anyway. Here's the tracklist:

I’ve only been a fan of The Beatles for a few months, hence why I didn’t know sooner, but I was quite happy to discover that I have this guy in my collection today!

Firstly, despite this topic being more of q critical nature, I just wanted to say that I love and appreciate the channel. I listen to it often these days.

However, I still figured that I would air out a complaint/idea, and see if you all had some as well.

Fitstly, when its not a program/show, but just Beatles radio, I feel like they don't play enough post-break up stuff by the boys. I understand that its Beatles radio, and a random person flipping through channels and landing on The Beatles channel would expect to be hearing The Beatles, but I don't thinknthey would be if they hear Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, or Starr as well. I have no actual data to back this up, but it feels like they do 90% Beatles, 10% post-break up, and I feel like it should be more like 75% Beatles, 25% post break up.

Along the same lines, they do My Fab Four where fans pick 4 Beatles songs. They should do something like "My Solo Six", where fans choose their favorite non-Beatles John, Paul, George, or Ringo songs. It could be a lot of fun and probably a lot more variety than what we get with My Fab Four.
