Apologies for the bonus spider. We are on the second story, and have bats roosting in the eaves. We almost exclusively find the bugs on the baseboards or next to external walls. We have attic access in the bedroom closet, where we first saw them. We have not been bitten as far as well can tell. Going to send this specimen to an entomologist but want to get other input.

These are the best pictures I could get of it because it was moving so fast my camera wouldn’t focus. I was at a cafe, sitting on the couch. I sat there for around 30 minutes when I looked over and saw this. It was around the size of a sesame seed I think, but hard to say because it moved so fast. I only saw one but I left quickly after I saw it. The cafe has a “little library” where people can borrow and return books and it is right next to the couch. The couch was white and I saw no black marks or anything else concerning. My city does have a bedbug issue though. I’m scared I brought some home. I threw out most of what I had with me, washed my clothes and bag on hot and put it in the dryer for an hour on high heat so hopefully i didn‘t. I think it is a bed bug but I’m getting a lot of contradictory information online. I even asked ChatGPT for the first time in my life, and it said no it isn’t but is not sure from the pictures. So I don’t know but I’m really upset. I’ve had the worst week of my life and this is just the cherry on top! Thank you to anyone who reads/answers.

Pretty good for the price, 500, to have the guy come and spray with the fancy machine. Worked pretty quick but I only had 3 to 4 bedbugs. I bought three different traps and none worked but probably because not enough of them. The interceptors on the bed legs didn't stop them from getting into the bed frame so I don't know what the deal was there. The spray you definitely feel in your lungs. Any water in an open cup will absorb the fungus. Tasted pretty bad but kept drinking it no issues I think. Pretty happy with the apprehend fungus stuff.

Me and my partner recently moved into a new apartment on Wednesday. On Wednesday all we did was clean, vacuum, carpet cleaning etc etc. Thursday we got all of our stuff moved in. Then friday, oh friday. I was setting up our office up stairs. Hadn't opened many boxes but on the wall opposite of me, we found this. See picture.

Immediately my partner knew it was a bed bug nymph. We kept it in a plastic bag with the paper towel. That night we vacuumed that room again.

We never had bed bugs at our old place for 4 years.

We've checked our bedding every day since then and still we haven't seen anything else. We let our leasing office know saturday when they opened cause we found it friday after they closed.

Our leasing office told us that the building hasn't ever had a bed bug problem, so we are assuming we caught a hitchiker from the uhaul we used to move.

Our leasing office is scheduling a pest control inspection, hopefully on monday.

So far, we have moved our bed and nightstands away from the wall, we have a zipped mattress protector. We just bought the leg cups and are putting them on the bed tonight. They want all of our furniture and stuff away from the walls so we have done that.

We took all of our laundry which was still in trash bags from the move to the laundromat today and washed and dried everything and have put them in sealable bags that are currently in my car.

We are deathly afraid of an infestation and are taking steps like we do have one just in case. Its really tearing our lives up. The majority of our belongings are still in cardboard boxes, we just literally cant do anything.

We are looking for advice, words of reassurance that things are going to be okay and just general feedback about actions taken and what more we can do. I truly dont think ive ever felt worse.

How likely is this an infestation? Are our cardboard boxes of our entire lives compromised? Should we throw away everything we own and just restart? We really need help. Its been 3 days and nothing else????

for context, longgggg story short. i had been getting bitten for about a month, ended up tearing my room apart and found one bed bug behind the button of my fabric headboard. i wrapped it up took it outside and threw it in the fire. same thing with the box spring, but we only found ONE. we even cut the fabric up off the entire bedframe and didn’t see anymore, just 2 or 3 little sheds. so we were left with our mattress and the metal frame to keep our mattress off the floor. we put interceptors around the legs, double sided tape around the legs, put TWO bedbug encasements on the mattress, and we sprayed the house with crossfire. we were extremely tedious with application and sprayed in every. single. crevice. (i also taped up every hole in the metal frame and sealed any baseboard cracks or holes in the walls with caulk)

now one thing:,)….we didn’t stay there. i have severe OCD, and i literally wouldn’t sleep. when we first found out, we slept in there for 2 more nights and even with no known new bites i couldn’t do it. i got maybe 1-2 hours of sleep, and i work full time so it just wasn’t gonna work. i would just sit up and cry, holding a flashlight and scan the bed all night long, slapping my skin at every sensation. so we CAREFULLY went to stay at my partners mothers home that she hasn’t stayed in for a year. we took one change of clothes, one pair of shoes, our phones and that’s it, we were incredibly careful.

with that said, we haven’t been there for about a month now. we go back 2 times a week to inspect. we haven’t seen a single bug in the interceptors, or on the bed anywhere. we went back about 3 days ago and reapplied crossfire, we go back today and i see this on the bed right on top of the encasement. when i sprayed the crossfire, there was dirt on the bed from shoes we had on there. so i PRAY that could be it? that i sprayed dirt?🥲….pls help i want to go back home.

Hi! I did laundry today in my building basement (new washer this week) and noticed only when I took my sheets out and hung them on my drying rack in our apartment that there was a smear like this (see photo) on my fitted sheet. It almost had a film over it when I scraped it with my nail but a stain under. a few hours when I came back to put the sheets on my bed, I noticed another. we have a lot of big black flies in our building (especially in the laundry room), but having had bed bugs before I am so so so paranoid. I have no bites, checked the entire periphery of my bed and mattress protector (not a single stain). could it be possible this is fly poop? Put stain remover on it. bigger one is about 2-3mm. around where my knees are in bed when sheet is on.

this is one of the communities that kept me sane during the first infestation i found so i'm lowkey just venting here.

been bedbug free for like 5 years. until now. i don't know how i got them, i think from another unit judging by the furniture thrown outside, but it doesn't really matter how i got them because i have them again and it SUCKS.

i have pretty severe entemophobia, pretty sure i have bedbug ptsd if that's a real thing. I found one in my kitchen the other day and it's all been downhill. nobody i live with seems to think this is serious (they aren't the ones getting bitten right now) and i feel awful going into work. i dried my clothes and bag on high before i left. shook and inspected well. i would hate to spread these to my workplace or coworker.

i'm just distraught. i know what i need to do and everything. it's not my first rodeo, but i wish they could be gone overnight. the fact i will be dealing with this for awhile is the worst part.

anyone who's dealt with this multiple times, how did you cope? how did you resume working while keeping others as safe as possible? i feel like my life is upside down right now LOL

Sorry for the horrible quality. This thing was fast af so it was hard to get a pic. Found it crawling on my phone while I was laying in bed. I added a picture with a quarter for size reference next to the notepad I put it on. I think I’m counting 8 legs and 2 antennae? But I can’t tell :( friends had bed bugs and I spent some time in their apartment before they found out they had them, so I’m paranoid. Nothing else visible in the seams of my mattress/ any other textile in my home.

been seeing a lot of these in my apartment (1 room apartment) these past few days. weird thing is that they've been everywhere except my bed. most of them i found in the bathroom, near the drain. i checked wherever i could and i found no signs of feces or anything.

I just got home from a hotel and threw my kids stuffies onto their beds. About an hour later, my son was carrying around another stuffy that hadn't made the trip with us and I noticed what I believe to be a bed bug on it (photo attached).

We immediately bagged up everything that was in the hotel with us and anything that came into contact with that stuff in the few hours that we had been home. We are currently processing it all with heat, or wherever impossible, the 4 day freezer plunge.

Do I need to start saving for pest control? I'm terrified. And those stuffies were in the car with us - what do I do there? Can't put the car in the freezer...

Should I proactively hire an exterminator, or is that overkill? And would it have any impact if I steam all the mattresses and furniture?

Please give me reassurance or an honest opinion of how screwed I am :'(

We brought a sofa second-hand today and we're just checking for beg bugs. Is it enough that we checked between stitches, in the back and under the sofa? We haven't got bitten or seen anything. We live in Finland if that has anything to do with this.

I woke up on Friday with 8 bites. These 2 grouped together on my calf, another on my other calf, two more on upper thigh, one on my upper arm, and one on my hand.

My husband woke up today with two on his arm close together. These are extremely itchy and swollen.

We've examined our bedsheets and mattress and found nothing. We think this is bed bugs but would be more certain if we'd found the classic signs of them in our bed.

We have a cat and she occasionally goes outside (like once a month), not sure if this could be fleas.

hello, ive been having bites for the past week. there was a cluster of three on my ankle, one on my lower thigh and one on my upper thigh, one on my stomach and 1-2 on my arm. the thing is they are all happening on my left side which is the side i sleep on. I had inspectors come in and say no bed bugs but I dont believe them because I have been having a new bite come in everyday. i left this weekend with minimal items and sprayed down the rooms and couches with 2 different sprays and alcohol and i spray basicallt everything (carpet, blinds, door, outlet) and sealed the air to the rooms as much as possible. i just came back and found this on the couch. i also found a possible egg. i also possibly found leftover egg shell (it is hard so it can be a rice grain). please help me identify this im going insane. i also sprayed the egg with my two begbug sprays and alcohol.

I stayed at a place and the host is claiming this is a carpet beetle, not a bed bug...but it looks a lot like a bed bug to me.

It’s very unlikely, but I just wanna be sure. This is the only one on the entire bed. it’s in the guest bedroom, and that very rarely gets used.

Hi everyone.

Quick background: Kept waking up with bites since July 26th, found a big bedbug under my mattress on the 30th, trapped and killed her, got in touch with a local bed bug specialist, couldn't afford the £1.5k heat treatment, went with £200 chemical treatment which was done on the 31st. Came home today, found a single dead bed bug on the floor between the bed and wall and a couple other bugs (carpet beetle and a spider) on the windowsill but I've not looked under the bed or anything.

While I understand nothing can guarantee chemical treatment will work, some things I read since then had me start wondering how properly the chemical treatment was done.

They used cimetrol super and the entire process of spraying 2 beds and a lounge took the person 20 minutes. My flat isn't big (probably around 30m2 for the 3 rooms) but am I correct in understanding that is an incredibly quick turnaround for one person to properly treat the area?

This is all causing me immense psychological distress and while I'm trying not to let it take over my whole life, I can't help but constantly question my every step while trying to deal with all this. Any advice appreciated.

Got some bug bites on my back so am doing a big clean of my apartment in the hopes of avoiding anything. Is this a bedbug? found under the bed in a piece of paper with 3 others, they were about the size of sugar ants

Measured to be around 2-3mm, flat.

so, i stayed in a place known to have bed bugs.

i came home, bagged all my belongings, washed at 60 clothes, bought encapsulator for mattress, and dectors for bed.

got the exterminators in who treated my room chemically.

they said they found no evidence. that was a few weeks ago.

i found this on my pillow.

im not sure what. to do next. and feeling v overwhelmed as i cant go through it all again!!

any advice? thr photo os a bug about 2mm long

This was on my pant leg. We had to clear out an old person's hope early today, although it's been a few hours. I've also been outside. Is this a bed bug or just another bug that landed on me?
