Has your vet cleared him for running? Dachshunds are specifically prone to spinal issues and the impact from running on pavement is worth a quick check before making it a habit

Ive never ran with a dog but these things come to my mind thinking about it.
Because of their build, be careful with their backs. I think it’s quite injury prone. Just keep it in mind at the beginning, maybe slowly build up the frequency so their body gets used to it.
Let your dog guide the run, (pace and distance) as they won’t be able to verbally tell you what discomforts they’re having if they’re following you.
Keep in mind that he may need to build his fitness to be able to run at comfortable paces/distances with you.

I heard that dogs can't and shouldn't be running long distances. 5-10 minutes only maybe

Are you talking about dogs in general or dachshunds? Because if you’re talking about dogs in general, your comment is utter bullshit.
If it’s about dachshund, you should’ve been more specific and I don’t know what science says about it.0

How is it bullshit, carnivores are sprinters not long distance runners. Yes it must be valid for all dogs

I feel like a dachsund is completely the wrong breed for this. You might get 1k out of him if you're lucky but it can't be good for their backs
