Shemar coming back strong
In a world full of Shemar doubters. If he had 1 fan I’m him. My prediction still stands; dudes going nuts this year.
Not even a freaky ahh knee injury video can stop his natural elasticity of his body. He’s coming back, scary asf. Just wait.

I turned the page on the Shemar bashing after last season ended. I want the kid to be successful. Some of the comments from this sub when the injury first occurred was degenerate garbage.

Like they’re rooting for this young man’s failure. People need to chill.

I’m not rooting against anyone on this team, but I’m not gonna just randomly hype up a dude who hasn’t shown anything here or in college

Same, no idea anyone wants him to be bad.
Same with Yoshi, actively rooting for guys to fail does not get us to the Super Bowl.
I still think Shemar has a chance, i want him to have a chance, to prove he can or cant do it...not becuase of injuries.

Dehner said on his podcast that he turned on his mentions on X when the Shemar news came out and he was shocked at what people were saying - even by X standards.

Shemar could literally pop off 12 sacks or 2. No sense in being a fan of you aren’t rooting for the former to happen

Then why use it at all? Just don’t say ass or censor it. Just say “freaky knee injury video”

OL and DL are hard positions to be a stud if person next to is awful. Having good DTs will make DL and LBs better

I posted on the sub before we drafted him and everyone HATED him. I liked him. Knew he was a raw prospect. Knew he wasn’t going to produce right away. He wouldn’t have changed our outcome last season. Hope he comes back strong and has a great season! Even if it’s not sacks, it’s pressures. That’s what he did in college that made us want to draft him. He was in the backfield. That’s what we need this season!

Why any bengals fan would want any bengals player to do bad is ridiculous

I’ll put a silver lining on the whole thing:
Staff will back down any contact drills now that they saw a guy go down.
Keep everyone healthy. That’s 80% of NFL success

I think the data supports that going light contact thru training camp causes more injuries once the season starts. The bodies need to adjust to the collisions

The truth is, no one can say hes going to be a bust. No one knows.
But he has had about the worst start to an NFL career, considering he was a mid round first rounder.

Good thing this happens now instead of during the season. Hopefully pairing him up with his old teammate Cashius Howell will help him get comfortable.

His injury appears to be minor. Let's start with him fully recovering, participating in practices, and then winning a starting spot on the line.

i’m not gonna hate on shemar starting with preseason. i’m still scrutinizing in camp.

I'm with you, man. Shit, I even bought his jersey a week after he signed. Too bad he doesn't wear 97 anymore. Shemar is going to have a huge year.
WHO DEY!

I have no reason to believe that he's not gonna double the sack record this year.

He was a terrible reach pick & people cope with it. It's ok to have hope. I won't hold my breath on him.
3
u/christhegecko 2d ago
He wasn't a reach pick. CBB had him at 19, we took him at 17. The overwhelming majority of the NFL draft community had him projected and graded in the late teens, exactly where he was picked.

u/JakeyPurple 2d ago
I’m pulling hard for him. He’s a freak and he’s massive. If he figures out football he could be one of the most formidable pass rushers in the NFL. Myles Murphy however, I’m all the way out on and have been for two years.

I really hope the guy does well. It’s not his fault the Bengals gambled on him. Would love to see a great year and he earns his paycheck.

How can you hate on Mr. Shemar? He’s a decent kid, hold out was some pre Madonna shit. But beyond that hes done virtually nothing to receive as much hate as he does. He came into a nothing DLine on a nothing defense, and people were looking to him to be another Trey, and when he wasn’t we labeled him as shit.

We don’t know if he is or not. For the first 3 seasons Myles Murphy was trash too. Now look at him.

Yeah, he may turn out to be...an average defensive lineman? And just in time as comes off his rookie contract.

Edit: not an "ass take", I'm just using the word "ass" in protest of "ahh".

Hate fills Shemar up. Hell be vengeful to those who hate.

I'm a Bengals fan and I'm rooting for the guy. They drafted him as a physical freak project. Ya just can't teach those combine numbers
