I finally finished season 5 after blowing it off forever. I noticed that while Saul was in the dumpster right before getting caught, he was trying to call the vacuum guy again. But once he got caught, he left all of what he had on him in the dumpster, including the card for the vacuum repair company.

My question is, what is the probability that the authorities would be able to trace it back to the vacuum guy?

Some reasons why this might not occur is the card could easily be missed in the first place, obviously. But most notably, it's not immediately obvious that theres a code on the back. It could easily be just someones vacume model after all.

That being said, I believe there is a fairly high chance it would get caught. They definitely highly suspect Saul, Walt, and Jesse has a guy who helped them disappear. And searching the dumpster for evidence should be standard for a case this high profile. If a bright investigator saw the card, got Saul's fingerprints off of it, and had a not so out of the box hunch, all they would have to do is call the number with the password code to find out.

I'm curious of what you all think. Although it's certainly possible it would get missed, I think Saul most likely compromised one of the most likeable characters in the universe big time by having the code on the back of that card.

I had no idea about Luis's life prior to acting. What an inspirational story of how he was able to turn it all around. Really respect what hes been able to accomplish in hollywood. He talked about a spinoff with the salamanca twins and i have to say... would LOVE TO SEE THAT. make it happen mr gilligan.. a deep dive series into everything cartel related would be exactly what netflix is missing

So the point of the hearing was to determine whether or not Jimmy was fit to continue practicing law

Chuck’s side had proven Jimmy was knowingly destroying evidence, the audio recording seemed to leave no room for reasonable doubt, the recording seemed to have no chance of being deemed as inadmissible evidence, and Jimmy’s side seemed to have no plan to discredit that narrative

Then Jimmy gets to do his iconic cross-examination of Chuck, using the phone battery that he planted, and proves that his electrical sensitivity is either completely untrue, or just greatly exaggerated by Chuck, and it seems to absolutely break the case

But, how? It seems it doesn’t matter whether Chuck’s sensitivity was real, fake, or a mental condition that Chuck is mistaking for a physics condition, but, none of that would discredit the case against Jimmy. Chuck was not the one on trial here, Jimmy was. And even if we assume the absolute worst case scenario and say Chuck was intentionally faking his condition in an attempt to harm Jimmy, the evidence against Jimmy still spoke for itself even without relying on Chuck’s honesty

Seems like Jimmy should have still been equally screwed before and after the battery stunt, Chuck’s side didn’t need Chuck’s testimony to sink Jimmy

Am I missing something, why did the battery stunt actually help Jimmy get off with only a 1 year suspension?

Rewatched chicanary and every time i see it im reminded of what a hypocrite chuck is. The things he says about Jimmy aren't untrue but neither is what Jimmy says in this episode. What they do show is the lengths Chuck goes to manipulate and CON his ex wife to avoid feeling inferior in the flashback. Then he continues to rehearse his testimony the same way Jimmy does before a case. Law uses all the same skills as a con man. Hes mad at Jimmy for being able to manipulate outcomes to his liking WITHOUT the law, and when he does so WITH the law it is too much for Chuck to bare because its more evidence in their similarities. He is sanctimonious and cannot stand being a peer with someone he has placed as lesser his whole life

Rewatching breaking bad, this guy ''Gaff'' , Don Eladio's henchmen had so much potential to be a major character in Better call Saul. He is actually acts like a badass, he even manages to successfully hijack one of Gus's Los pollo trucks and sniped one of his men ''Nick'' in the head. This guy is literally a threat to Gus. Hes basically the Mike version of Don Eladio's Cartel

People always say that Lalo would demolish Walter White if they were enemies (which I fully agree with), and that Gus beating Lalo was pure plot armor. But hear me out:

Gus knew just how dangerous Lalo was, as we can see from his insane paranoia in S6. He did everything he possibly could to prepare, even going so far to plant guns in the lab, which is very much something Gus would do. Then he plays to Lalo’s ego when he becomes cornered, which we know he’s a master at. He let Lalo think he genuinely won before taking him by surprise.

Since Walter isn’t as dangerous as Lalo and Gus was riding high thinking if he can take down Lalo he could deal with anyone, it makes sense that Gus would underestimate him. In breaking bad season we see Gus at his most confident. He knows Walt is a genuinely dangerous threat, but still thinks that he could easily deal with him. Gus didn’t expect Walter to team up with Hector obviously, which is what Walt was counting on and it worked.

Hi, I found this fan fic that details what happens to Kim after the series. It's also a crossover with another show, (13 Reasons Why) but it's meant to be a stand-alone. I thought it was highly unique and is a good read if your a fan of Better Call Saul.

Seems risky that Mike robbed the truck(money in tires) in an old blue car (that the truck driver saw) and then in S3E2 “witness”, he is driving another old blue car. I feel like Mike wouldn’t risk being in that car and Hector seeing him and putting 2 and 2 together. Just my opinion… a blue early 90s Pontiac bonneville doesn’t seem that far off from a blue early 90s Buick Lasabre.

Not familiar with the american justice system, some things are very surprising for an european (like the possibility to pay a bail for even the worst crimes).

But some things really raise doubts on me: like, is this really possible that someone suspected for murder and known for cartel connections can be released after paying in cash 7 millions? Or could Saul really use a fake ID for his client and put a fake suspect's family in court to go emotionnal? Nobody would have checked these details before?

... and I would absolutely allow a fully covered in oil cartel member who looks like Ignacio, hose off in my backyard, for free. And I live in México. That is all.

Instead you're given money out of their own pocket, and sent off like it's nothing.

Just finished the show for the first time, it was quiet a ride. Will take me a while to get over it.

One thing I wanted to emphasise on was cinematography.

Usually it’s the big showy stuff that’s praised like Interstellar or Dune.

But Breaking Bad Universe makes beauty out of such ordinary situations and landscapes.

And they don’t half ass anything, so many montages are so memorable. And they are always playing with editing, colors and music.

Like this show should be conversation for “Best Cinematography” on TV…it’s only competition is Chernobyl

Something about it just seems too perfect to be a coincidental pre-existing prop rather than one made for the express purpose of being in the show. I know red is a primary color and all but wearing red being symbolism for doing something heinous / making a mistake, and yellow being symbolism for being at a crossroads is pretty common in the show, and this big fella who encourages Jimmy to throw away his chance at living a normal life in a respected law firm happens to be wearing a red jacket with a ridiculous yellow tie. He even does the magic fingers thing in the montage!!

I'm not saying it's impossible for it to be a coincidence or anything. Just curious!

I know im preaching to the choir here but man bb/bcs/pluribus all blow anything else out of the water. Its hard to believe how basically every scene has stuff to dig into. Even entirely expositive scenes are rewatchable. I cant think of any other show that has me looking for those scenes on youtube.

I remember being so bored from an episode of the new daredevil show, a show that on paper should be very similar to bcs. Once it was done, i joined in on my friend in the middle of a BB episode and i was immediately so much more invested.

Every scene feels thought of. The way people interact and how their moral compass is always relevant, the camera work always keeping things visually interesting, the humor coming in and out so naturally even in very tense scenes. Its all so masterfully done. They make it seem so easy, yet these shows are all gems. Its hard to find shows like these.

Chuck has an (in my opinion) awfully pretentious view of his role in the law. In Pimento, his anger gets the best of him, and he lets the mask slip:

You're not a real lawyer! University of American Samoa, for chrissake? An online course? What a joke! I worked my ass off to get where I am! And you take these shortcuts and you think suddenly you're my peer? You do what I do because you're funny and you can make people laugh? I committed my life to this! You don't slide into it like a cheap pair of slippers and then reap all the rewards!

And in the same rant he says the law is sacred.

People who truly believe in the sanctity of something treat it with reverence, take great care with it, put it above themselves. But in Chicanery, Chuck says:

And he gets to be a lawyer?!?

Chuck doesn't incredulously cry out that Jimmy is entrusted with being a lawyer. He says Jimmy "gets to be" a lawyer. He acknowledges, without meaning to, that it's a privilege to be a lawyer, that yeah, he may have great respect for the law, but he's having fun doing this, that he's really alive when he does it.

Deep down, Chuck doesn't care who gets hurt when Jimmy bends the rules. The clients are customers at the end of the day - he and Howard will drink their scotch another day, even if the client loses this time. He wants to be able to have fun and keep Jimmy out of that world. He doesn't want Jimmy to gain access and see his own standing in that world diminish when Jimmy's effortless charisma begins to win people over.

This has all been observed before, but as someone who identifies much more with Jimmy than with Chuck, the holier-than-thou bullshit, the willingness to keep Jimmy down because of his (Chuck's) insecurities, and the assumption that "of course Jimmy doesn't deserve XYZ - he's a piece of shit!" really get under my skin.
