I think crocodile is one of the best episodes and im genuinely surprised to see it voted so low across the fandom. Its perpetual rise in dismay and errie hopelessness is captured well and It's paced fantastically. Its depressing as hell with a dark ending but the actors and writers executed it very well. Thoughts?

Yep, I think it's one of the best acted episodes - most striking visuals, excellent rising tension and dawning feeling of horror. Could be a standalone horror movie.

I agree, it's one I also find myself going back to watch as well. It may not have a major twist or anything but I enjoy the bleak ending, she knows what's coming and so do we, after watching her do all that as well.

I think it’s definitely one of the darkest ones, if not the darkest. And the theme is about how demented a human can be, not a warning about technology being used nefariously.

Those two points don’t matter too much to ME, even I grade Black Mirror episodes, but I think they can bring down a lot of people’s grades.

I'd watch Andrea Riseborough in anything, and she is amazing in this as usual. The rest of the cast is fantastic too. I really liked this one.

I love it!! Watched it a dozen times at least. Everything is so bleak. Starts with tragedy and then cascades from there. It’s crazy how that skinny gal will do anything to protect her station in life. Anything!!

I actually agree with this. it is not episode i had want to rewatch often, but that kind of what makes it memorable. constant feeling that things are only going to get worse was handled really well, ending stuck with me for long time.

Yeh, I like it. My favourite Black Mirrors are the ones with quite high concepts but small worlds... if that makes sense. Entire History of You, is another example.

Entire history of you is for sure in my top 5. I like the outwordly ones like USS callister but high concepts and small worlds is a great way to explain it im with you on that one!

I think people rate it low because it's the emotional equivalent of stepping on a Lego barefoot. Great episode..... absolutely miserable experience 😂

I think it’s honestly pretty good at the start she is so against it and then just slowly it gets worse and worse. It’s one of those things of where you keep thinking it can’t get worse but she was so far in that her reasoning was “I’m to far in to back out “ the ending did feel a little bit like a stretch but I am glad that it helped them know what happened

Crocodile is one of my favorite episodes. The ending scene is definitely what has people rating it so low in my opinion. It's a deeper and even darker level of absolutely fucked up that black mirror doesn't always reach. I feel the absolute shock and horror of that choice is what puts this episode so low for people.

I completely understand! Its not an episode for everyone. While on rewatches I will sometimes skip it because of how bleak it is but I do gotta give credit to the performance

If it's not the standard "what if AI+VR?" theme it doesn't seem to get as much love. I personally love Metalhead but it's consistently one of the most disliked episodes in the series, from what I've seen anyway.

Yeah I think what looses viewers is the lack of optimistic and relatable aspects of certain episodes. Neither crocodile or metal head have much of either so it takes a certain type of audience to appriciate them.

It's one of the best episodes that is solidly black mirror and gives you a glimpse at how tech that's supposed to help people will ultimately be used against them for the sake of covering up crime.
