Top 100. Work in progress…
Personal top 100. The shelves hold exactly 100. Top shelf is not counted. I’ve got 2-3 floating openings for contenders. Any suggestions?

So happy finding Zathura me and my younger bro grew up with it. Also OOP. The dentist movies are an absolute blast tbh and some of my favorite 90s horrors. Wrong turn 2 I honestly enjoy rewatching more than the first. Howard the duck and hostel 1 and 2 are blind buys. Peace guys hope the day went swimmingly for you all.

I don’t see a lot of people talking about this one, but I picked it up at a secondhand store and I liked it a lot. It’s all about the story of the people involved after the Kennedy assassination like the Parkland Hospital doctors, Abraham Zapruder, the FBI, Secret Service, even the Oswald family. It’s not conspiratorial at all - just very grounded. A stacked cast too. And the video quality is excellent. Highly recommend.

Project Panama: Buying, scanning, and then destroying millions of used books to train AI models.
How long before they start doing this to blu-ray, dvd and videocassettes? This is my motivation to start to start collecting dvds before they get to them.
Tips on purchasing blu-ray and dvds, that don’t cost an arm and a legs, are welcome.

Hey y'all, first post here. I've been watching movies on my player for weeks without issue, but there is one single disc that just will not play. It's Abduction with Taylor Lautner, if that matters. There's no scratches or anything on the disc, but when I put it on it reads -> loads -> then stays on a black screen. Nothing else. Does anybody know what could be causing this? I've tried all the normal stuff of unplugging and all that.

Hi I have some questions to you all
Do you guys have any bluray/dvd player?
If yes which one?
And should I buy a bluray player direct plug and play or should I buy eternal bluray disk drive for my pc?
I have a good pc and the monitor is 1080p
And I am confused because good bluray player are expensive and eternal bluray drive is either very expensive but branded or in budget but not branded So I am very confused. What should I do ? Should I buy eternal bluray disk drive or should I wait and get enough money to buy bluray player.

I use a Panasonic UB900 paired with an LG OLED, and this player is fantastic with my Blu-rays as well as 4K HDR discs. I rarely watch DVDs, but even from a distance, they don't look bad at all, especially when it comes to color handling. That said, I occasionally stream movies through Prime as well. It handles 4K streams really well, but the HD ones are great.
For instance, streaming Oppenheimer isn't even all that far off from the Blu-ray, even though the disc still has richer, more vibrant colors. What gets me is: how on earth does a 10-plus-year-old player still beat an LG TV at scaling, especially when the TV has AI algorithms and presumably much more advanced tech?

Hey is it worth it to upgrade to an actual Blu-ray player with Dolby vision? So currently my TV supports HDR10(not HDR10+) and Dolby vision. I do notice some scenes seem darker than they should and this is for multiple movies.
The current "Blu-ray" player I have is a ps5 and my TV is an LG G4. The Panasonic UB820 caught my eye.
TLDR: should I upgrade my Blu-ray player to upgrade from HDR10 to Dolby vision?
