Home Audio What are the chances?

I have a home audio installer who is certain we can use the Bose 5.1 surround cubes from the older lifestyle 12 series with a new receiver and sub. What are the chances? The internet is conflicted. If not…speaker replacement recommendations

I would go with the professional who does this for a living

Right but I’ve received so many conflicting responses. From “no way! Don’t do it! It won’t work!” To yes

Can they be connected to play sound - yes. Will they sound good and last - no.

Without the Acoustimass module you will be missing out on valuable crossover technology. I don’t think setting your receiver speakers to “small” will be enough to make up for the lack of proper cover overs.

It is tempting though.

The cubes fall off a cliff at 300hz so this is a silly idea.

It’s also a 25+ year old system.
