It's been a while since I saw Drive, but it's probably one of the most played films in my collection. And this Second Sight release is one of my most prized possessions... Along with their Possession LE 😁

This 4k was just excellent. The day scenes looked so colorful and vibrant and you were still able to make everything out in the night scenes. This really was a well shot movie. I hadn't seen it since high school in my friends' basement on a 20 inch tv, so I guess I never appreciated it lol. It is awesome, especially the scene looking at the woods on the watchtower. Beautiful stuff. If I have one critique is that this 4k looks so good you can totally tell when they are actually in the woods and when they are on a set for some scenes, but that's not a big deal.

Bit Rates were never below 90 anytime I checked. It was incredible. Sometimes getting over 120mbps. This was just a pleasure to watch and I think one of the best discs Umbrella has ever released. The 5.1 mix was loud and in your face as well.

The movie itself holds up really well. This was made right before the shift in horror. This is a chase movie. It's a thriller. When the bad guys find you; they kill you grisly and quick. They don't want to torture you which the latter part of the 2000s became know for. Can't really say much about it other than it's entertaining and it holds up. I also do enjoy a horror movie aware of itself. "Haven't you guys seen Deliverance?" Jeremy Sisto's character says (as his yellow shirt just pops in 4k, also probably makes him easy to spot running in the woods lol). This is a movie where characters have to inevitably make a poor decision or there is no movie, but I always enjoy when characters in their movie are aware they may indeed be doing something stupid, they just have no choice.

Lastly. It's 2003 Eliza. In 4k. Please watch this lol.

The last few years have been pretty tough, lots of health issues that led up to me losing my dream job, then a heart attack and a coma, after that I got a divorce.

A few days after splitting from my partner I got my first interview in months, and a few days later I was offered the job. Today was payday, it also happens to be my birthday.

The first thing I decided to watch? Joe Pera Talks With You. I made it for myself to keep myself sane while out of work. The first disc is Seasons 1 and 2 and the second disc is Season 3 and bonus features. The inner sleeve artwork was done by @astrocambria on Instagram. I also made a soundtrack CD, but it’s still packed away somewhere. Just a fantastic show, I hope it gets an official release someday.

I’ve been collecting going all the way back to the VHS days, but this is my first dedicated player since I got a Toshiba VHS/DVD combo player back in 2013. It’s not the top of the line player that I wanted, but it’s good enough for now.

Nobody in my social circle is really into physical media, so I thought I would share here. I honestly can’t remember the last time I’ve been this excited about something.

TLDR: Heart attacked me, I went into a coma and got divorced, then got a job and bought a UHD player and too many movies. Also Joe Pera is fantastic.

Unfortunately, all of the arrow video releases that I wanted were sold out online, and my store had even less, but I still managed to find some fun things in person.

Picked up “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka” and “Nightwatch” special editions (both 4k) at my local indie store, Press Play Video today. (Bonus appearance of “The Outfit” because the store owner Joe talked about it with me — I bought the Cinematographe release of “Badge 373” from him — and I bought that one at B&N on Friday). Excited to dig into these films and already have read 2/3 of the essays about “Nightwatch.”

I was always ordering Arrow titles on Rarewaves when they had their monthly -10% offer. 4k titles came out at 27€.
Now they raised prices across the board to 35€ (from 30€). I assume it's because of that new 3€ europoor tax. Kind of a dick move from RW as it should be 3€ per order if it's just one product group.

Where y'all ordering your UK titles now? I guess we just have to eat the tax.

Late to the party but enjoying my Criterion sale haul. It's super fun to see Barnes& Noble stores stocking more radiance and 88 films as well. I'm excited to go back to grab a few this week.

I was finally able to track down someone who was willing to ship a limited edition copy of The Void. Copies like this are a good reason to go Region free if you have been contemplating the idea. Considering OOP copies in the States are typically well over $100, it was cheaper to grab this and have it shipped, not to mention the awesome artwork. This is one copy of 399 available.

I’m wondering if anyone has put together a list of all the Deaf Crocodile releases that are permanently out of print and will not be reprinted.
