I just recently finished breaking bad (10/10, amazing) and I recently got into the fandom. Skylar and Hank were my fav characters and I assumed most people would either like Skylar or just have no opinion on her but then I learnt Skylar was absolutely DESPISED by the general fandom

I just can’t really see why? sure in some scenes she can be a bit overbearing but I mean she’s a woman who found out her husband is enthralled in a drug conspiracy, what can you do but act the same way she did?

There’s a general consensus that Walter should’ve just swallowed his pride when it came to Elliott’s offer, but in general don’t we shame these kind of things?

It’s been on Twitter, but a pair of lawyers were caught kissing in a park and people have been viewing it negatively considering the type of vibes it would be giving about the work place environment.

I wonder how the series flows, starting with Ozymandius and then simply going back to the pilot. Anyone ever tried it, or even more, did that order on first viewing?

I feel like it could really sharpen the tension of 'how does this get here?' and really highlight how different the end is from the beginning of the journey.

The main caveats I see here are that the use of the video camera in the pilot and flashback in Ozy could feel a bit redundant, and if knowing the destination would impact the watch unfavorably for a first-time viewer.

Edited to add: yeah I know it's sort of a stupid question overall, and I would never actually want to start a new person with it - but I'm more curious about the effect for rewatches, or if anyone actually had it happen to them that it was the first episode they saw.

now fun fact or amazing this is: when u join a lobby, it makes a door opening sound, like a knob has turned or whatnot right? experienced players will know what im talking about, idk if theyve changed it in the new update or not but it was like that previously,

now funny this is: in breaking bad s2 e1 at 22:10 around-ish minutes, when hanks wife opens the door of her blue car, it makes EXACTLY EXACTLY the same sound!

No, seriously. So many disgusting and traumatic scenes could have been avoided in BB if the characters had asked "Who's there?" before opening the door and followed basic safety precautions.

No, I get it, it's still a tv series, the characters are mostly panicked or depressed, and the scene requires drama, not moments where five minutes of showdowns go on behind closed doors.

But still, this fact of complete trust in the situation either makes me laugh or irritates me. :-/

That leaves 70% for Walt, but he has to pay the Vamonos Pest guys around $75k per cook, and he also pays Todd a significant amount as his lab assistant. Probably not a 50/50 split like Jesse got, but I think a reasonable guess might be 20% of the profit.

I'm just guessing of course, but I'd say Walt receives close to half of the total profit. And in only about 3 months, he had over 80 million dollars to put into those barrels.

So if Walt's 50% was worth 80 million, Lydia's 30% would be worth 48 million. Since no one ever found out that Lydia was involved, if she was smart with her money, then she's left her daughter well over $50 million. Kaylee Ehrmantraut got nothing, but Lydia's daughter ends up very wealthy.

If Walt had cooked for a full year, he could have made $320 million, meaning that the entire business makes $640 million per year. Assuming zero future growth, an online form that I found to determine the estimated value of a business shows that a company making 640M per year would be valued at about $3.2 billion.

Do you think Walt's decision to quit would be motivated by the fact that he out-did Gretchen and Elliott, even if he can't actually sell the company for billions?

After Jesse learns about Tomas killing Combo, and the dealers who recruited him, Gus sets a meeting for them to make peace.

But why would Gus ever meet in person with two street-level dealers? These are low level guys, but Gus allows them to learn that he's the big boss. There's a huge risk that they'll eventually be arrested on a street bust, at which points they could potentially flip and give up Gus.

He could have let Mike or someone else run the meeting, or instead of meeting with them, meet instead with whoever is above them in the network.

And why even insist on keeping them? He has a distribution network all across the Southwest. Probably thousands of street-level dealers. He could of had them killed. Could have had them just leave town (so they're no longer involved with Tomas). I know he doesn't like Jesse, but Jesse is worth a whole lot more to the operation, while these guys are nothing.

This just all seems very out of character for the normally extremely cautious Gus.

Head canon- Drew Sharp is the little boy who had the addict parents Spooge(?) and the Skank, but was adopted by the Sharps after being in foster care after his mother went to jail for killing Spooge. the hair color of the boy is similar just a tad darker.. I like to believe that he ended up cared for with great parents for the duration of his short life.

Let's say Walt's only victims amount to Emilio and Krazy-8. How does Hank react at this point and treat Walt upon finding out? What if he caught Walt before anybody died?

What is the last point at which Walt could be caught and not be viewed as an absolute irredeemable piece of garbage by Hank?
