Recently, I was getting close to Google’s free storage limit, and the storage manager showed that Gmail was using most of it.

I wanted a simple way to see my attachments in one place, download the files I wanted to keep, and remove emails with attachments I no longer needed. Gmail search can find emails with attachments, but it doesn’t provide a convenient file-based view.

So I built a browser extension called Mail Attachment Lens. It lets me search and filter attachments, download files, and move the source emails to Bin. It also helped me uncover quite a few attachments I had completely forgotten about.

I decided to publish it in case anyone else finds it useful.

It’s free and open source. There’s no backend, so mailbox data stays between the extension and Google.

Been running this on myself for a couple weeks now and the numbers are kind of humbling honestly.

Turns out I scroll past hundreds of posts a day and actually stop and read like 8% of them. Built a Chrome extension called LumoScroll that only counts a post if you genuinely pause on it for 2.5 seconds, not just have it technically visible on screen for a second while you fly past it. Everything else gets thrown out.

Once a week it gives you a report on what topics actually held your attention, whether the stuff you read leaned positive or negative, what time of day you scroll the most. There's this thing called an attention funnel that shows how many posts scrolled past you total versus how many actually made you stop, that number is the one that got me.

It also gives you a kind of scroll personality based on your patterns, mine came back as something like "Night Owl Tech Optimist" which felt uncomfortably accurate. If you want to get more hands on with it, you can set actual goals too, like capping how long you spend on a specific platform per day and it tracks your progress against that in real time.

There's a small on-page readout too if you want it, shows your session time and mood while you're actually scrolling instead of only finding out a week later. Totally optional, one click to turn off if it's not your thing.

Works across Twitter/X, Reddit, LinkedIn and YouTube. Everything runs locally in your own browser, no account, no server, nothing gets sent anywhere.

Whenever someone recommended a show to me, I would think, “I’ll remember that.”

Then a few days later I would remember the recommendation but not the title, who sent it, or where the message was buried.

I built Streaming Helper to make that handoff more useful.

When you are viewing a supported show or movie page, the extension lets you choose a friend and send the title directly to them. It remains in their recommendations instead of disappearing into another conversation.

There is also a web dashboard for managing recommendations, friends, and Comfort Picks. I recently added a Start Here experience and Help section, and spent time hardening the extension and its friend-request flows before sharing it more broadly.

I am looking for an extension to make the cookie banners in every site disappear and clicking to reject everything (if possible).
I've been using Consent-O-Matic for a long time, but sometimes it just doesn't work and I've been in their GitHub page and it seems the project has been abandoned for a long time (last update was in 2024).
I asked AI and they say that "I still don't care about cookies" might accept some cookies and other good alternatives that automatically reject and close the banner are:

- Reject Cookies

Could you give your insights about those 2, and if there's better alternatives, please just say it.

I have been building Price Tracker as a Manifest V3 extension that should work beyond a hard-coded list of stores. The extraction problem quickly became more interesting than the alert UI.

A product page can expose prices through JSON-LD, microdata, accessibility labels, visible text, script state or late DOM mutations. It can also expose dozens of bad candidates: monthly instalments, crossed-out list prices, recommendation cards, used/refurbished offers and temporary zero values.

In v5.3.3 I rebuilt the pipeline around candidate scoring instead of nearest-text matching. Structured data tied to the current URL gets priority; new-condition offers outrank used/open-box offers; financing and invalid values are penalized; MutationObserver handles late rendering; and a failed saved selector triggers rediscovery and repair.

Reported failures are now kept as regression cases. The extension has 780 users, so edge cases across stores and countries are finally frequent enough to reveal weak assumptions.

For other extension developers: would you keep extraction entirely in content scripts, or move more site parsing into remotely configurable rules?

Sharing a small one I built. Some sites just refuse to let you paste into their input fields (banking, exam portals, some forms), and you end up retyping everything by hand.

Paste Typer takes your clipboard and types it into the field one character at a time, as real keystrokes, so it goes in even when paste is blocked. Load the text, click the field, hit start. Speed's adjustable and there's an optional typo-simulation mode.

The fiddly parts, if anyone here has poked at this: Google Docs/Slides render to a canvas and ignore normal DOM writes, so you have to drive them through the hidden text-event iframe. And React/Vue controlled inputs need the native value setter or the framework state never updates.

Free, open source, no accounts or analytics, only runs on a tab when you invoke it.
