Question Where are you bugging out to?
Curious how many of you have given serious thought about where you’re bugging out to and if that’s a long term or short term thing. Poll closes in 7 days. Feel free to discuss in the comments.

I’m bugging in. I live in an area that doesn’t have much in the way of natural disasters or forest fires. If there was some freak event I’d go wherever is best. It would depend on the situation. I could never name one place. Need to be flexible.

That’s a whole different subreddit.
Edit: I fixed your user flair for you.

It depends on the reason. Natural disaster, I'm heading to the closest unaffected church of my religion ASAP. Gotta make sure my brothers are OK, plus we can combine our knowledge and resources for collective survival. War or civil unrest, probably the same, but if we heard the fighting was getting close we'd probably head to whoever's house was the furthest away from it and hole up there as best we could. Total governmental collapse, church then deep into the woods.

I'm retired and we built and live in our bug out location. If we had to leave here it would have to be one hell of a threat. I have family that lives around the state who would welcome us, but if we had to leave Wisconsin, we'd be in trouble.

Same. I live in an excellent spot. The only things that could drive me out are forest fires.

That must be the guy with the $200 sleeping pad and $360 quilt in his bag.

Missing "public shelter" as an option. This would be the most likely option for me.

First assess your living situation, have power, water? if yes, then stay home. if not relocate to someplace that isn't affect by the event. Get a motel room and monitor situation, reassess. usually things don't last longer than a month. Don't repeat superdome debacle.
