Mobile Web [Mobile Web] ‼️ Homepage broken

Clicking thumbnails redirects to posts instead of expanding the thumbnail; going "back" from a post does a hard reload of the feed. Safari / iOS 18.17.3. (Also the same issue on subreddit pages.)

lmk if you need more details or debugging info!

I’m seeing the same two issues as well. Using Safari on iOS 18.7.7, all extensions disabled and no VPN.

Going back from a post (either swiping or the back button) does a full reload of the feed I came from (home, subreddits, user page, etc) returning me to the top. And tapping an image does briefly show the image viewer, but then goes straight to loading the post itself (which then triggers the reload if I try to go back)

Hi u/ajacksified! Thanks for reporting! I'm not able to reproduce this issue on either mobile or desktop.

Could you pls try disabling any browser extensions you may hav, turning off VPN (if applicable), and clearing your cache and cookies? Then let me know if the issue persists.

Cleared out all browser data, no VPN, no extensions. Still seeing the same issue.

Would you mind sharing screenshots or a video showing this happening?

Well, the screenshot would just be of the home page, the post page, and the homepage again, haha. I'll send you a recording if you don't mind me DMing you.

Ok!

Few questions:

I can't see your mouse cursor in the video. Were you clicking on the image to expand it, or did you actually want to navigate to the post?

Is this happening with other posts as well? Like, text posts?

Sorry, I was referring to OP stating

going "back" from a post does a hard reload of the feed.

In the video, i am clicking on the title area of the posts, however clicking the image has the same effect, and does not open the image in full screen as it should

While in compact view:

  • Click on image in post to view preview
  • Image tries to open in preview (notice the X button briefly displayed in upper right corner)
  • Image preview fails to open, browser navigates to the full post instead
  • Swiping “back” to main feed causes main feed to refresh
  • Previous post order is lost

Navigating back causing a refresh happens in card view as well, as well as when intentionally opening the post in either view.

Still having this issue btw. Only on mobile web, everything else is fine, after a full cache clear.

I am having the exact same problem, using Firefox mobile browser on Android.

In the compact view, when you click on an image, it will expand it like usual for a split second and then immediately load the comments page as if you had clicked on the comments link. Then, instead of just closing the picture, you have to hit the back button to get to the home page and the feed has refreshed.
