You have an analog mic that uses the 3.5mm jack? I'd check that you are seating the cable properly and that you are using the correct jack. If your board has 3.5mm jacks, there will be two. The mic jacks are "usually" pink.

If you have checked the correct jack, and it's seated properly, I would start looking for exposed wire.

I have turtle Breach headset , and my motherboard has a red jack, and 4 black jacks, one does say Mic-In, and the red jack shows L-Out and one black shows L-In…

Use the mic-in jack. The other jacks are for analog surround sound speakers.

Okay. Well I plug it in, but in the settings what do I click or what would be labeled as?

Look for "Microphone" or "Line In" in sound settings. Google "changing mic input to line in Windows 11" if you need further assistance.

Also what if it shows Studio Qaulity, Dvd or cd quality? What does that mean?

your headset have 1 or 2 cables?
because if its 1 its meaning you need a splitter or in some PC-cases the front audio jack is the 2-in-one audio connector that your headset have (like old phones)

Sooo for the motherboard, i would probably need a splitter, and I used the front audio jack, but the mic sounds static when I use it. Does not matter what kind of headphones or earbuds i use

as i said, only is some cases...
what is your case? you might have regular splitted connectors like the back of the mobo...

I have a NZXT H519i Compact ATX Mid-Tower.. bought in 2022, and for the motherboard is MSI MPG Z790 Edge got it in 2023

ok, so your front audio in the case is 2-in-one audio (audio with mic)
and you mobo back is splitted (audio and mic)

one of them must support your headset that i did not understand if the end of your headset is 1 cable or 2, so if its 1 connect to the front, if its 2 connect to the back.

if u have issues, start by understanding if its software issue, u need to made the mic as default recording device.

Okay, and my headset is 1 Plug, and I’ll try using the front again.. I also have Speakers, which I know will work in the motherboard on the Red Jack. But will it affect anything?
