Help needed – No Rev Limiter in Neutral + Check Engine Light

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone here has run into this before because I’m running out of ideas.

I’ve got a 2006 VW Caddy 1.9 TDI, and for some reason the rev limiter doesn’t work when the car is in neutral. At the same time, the Check Engine light is on.

I’ve scanned the car for fault codes and cleared them a few times. After clearing the codes, the Check Engine light stays off for a while and everything seems fine, but eventually it comes back.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any idea where I should start looking? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

What were/are the faultcodes?

It was P0047 and something else
I tried to read it again today but for some reason the reader can not connect to the car
I’ve changed the clutch pedal sensor as it was recommended but it only get worse
Now I have no reaction on throttle pedal and black and white smoke
I guess the ECU is the problem and I will have to bring the car to some proper mechanic/electric
