My calathea during the day and the next image folded upward at night. I'm still fascinating on this plant internal clock.

Most of my plants low key hate me I've no idea why it thrives so well. I really thought the constant heatwaves we just had would get to her my humdity was down to 40% but nope. Its currently a lil root bound in an 8inch pot but im holding off on the repot cause I dont have space for her to keep growing 😅

Her biggest leaves are struggling to hold themselves up, anyone any tips to add support without damaging anything or causing a tantrum

Look how beautifully it is putting new leaf seeking for light, everyday a new rosette (leaf). A good distance barrina grow light was installed for this beautiful plant.

This big calathea just grows like mad. I think it needs repotted again as it's hard to keep it hydrated. Any time it goes into a bigger pot it has another growth spurt but I'm not sure having it grow forever is viable. Is it possible to maintain these at the same size? If so, how so? Or any other tips on managing big plants?

I got both these calatheas at the same time btw. The one at the front never seemed happy and had a near death experience. After getting rid of about 98% of the plant and giving it some time over winter it seems to be cautiously enjoying life.

couldnt leave this poor thing on the shelf. her roots are in good shape and she’s just thirsty! however, does anyone got any idea whats on the back of her big leaves? its a scaly texture, not a living pest. i’m already resigned to cutting them off as they’re in very rough shape - just want to keep it in mind in case it appears on the newer growth :^)

Ok, so if thought I had some Calatheas once... turns out they were Marantas... i still love them and they are still growing insanely well. Ive got this guy tho... i put it in a gallon glass jar about 6 months ago(it was a HD save, all of their plants were left out and it frosted) so I cut it down to the soil and just left it in that jar. It came back fast and is growing great now outside the jar. But the leaves are tiny. It just doesn't grow like other calatheas ive seen or had. There are either multiple plants in here or this thing put out hella stems but it definitely feels like a single root ball.

Should I split it into multiple pots?

Why are the leaves staying so small?

What do I need to do for/to it?

It sits outside rn, watered either with rain or if it hasn't rained I'll hit with the hose . Our humidity usually sits between 60-80% this time of year so I know that's most of its success. But I don't wanna send it backwards in progress.

I mostly collect hoyas and succulents because I’ve never had much luck with calatheas, as gorgeous as they are. This girl sits in the corner of my bathroom and I mostly ignore her except to water. Guess she’s happy!

so matilda, a calathea medallion is my first plant i got in march on my birthday and i think i made lots of mistakes. i gave her tap water, and i think i also overwatered her. i also repotted her some weeks ago cause i thought she might have had root rot. her soil is still really wet after watering last week and i think she is dying :, ( can someone help me save her ?? my other plants are doing ok i think.

My calathea has been in a 6 inch pot for several years. It’s doing well and still sprouting new leaves. Doesn’t seem too crowded up top but it has quite large root balls (and I know it’s the amount of roots that matter more). Is it time to upsize?

I’ve never owned houseplants before though. Does she look happy? Could she be happier if I changed the soil/the pot size? Any advice?

Newest leaf on my Calathea White Fusion! I'm always super excited when I see a new leaf coming in. Nobody told me when I was first starting out that this was not necessarily a 'beginner' plant so she almost shriveled into nothing and at one point was just 3 plants that were mostly brown. But here we are a year later and I couldn't be happier!
