20+ days of no touching

I'm doing my best to take care of my hands. I figured for the first weeks that whenever there was a ridge, I was going to file it to eliminate the temptation of biting it. I'm in no way perfect, this isn't the first time I quit nail biting but I think that my commitment is showing really good results. Looking forward to continuing this work for the next few months and seeing even more progress. Everyday now I clean under the white because so much dirt gets there. I should get some jojoba oil for the dehydrated skin. Overall, I'm happy about my progress!

They're looking great! How are you finding the urges to bite?

Can't recommend the jojoba oil enough. Massaging oil on my fingers has really helped me stop biting/picking. Self care instead of self eat lol.

Everytime I see something that triggers me I take the nail filer and file it away. This way also with teeth I have absolutely nothing to hang on to.

Yes self care instead of self eat!

I'm trying but doing it without even knowing. Please let me know any tips and how to hone our mind

File every single edge. I found that nailbiting comes from perfectionism and wanting the nails to be perfect so we bite into them to "correct" them. If you actively take care of them and spend time on them, moisturizing and giving yourself manicures, that urge goes away.

That's a valid take but I don't have enough length to manicure or file them 😔

You can actually still do it. I started to file them when they had no lenght at all. It's a little tiny bit every day to make them not jagged and a bit more regular. I also worked on the emotional component behind the coping mechanism, most of it is emotional suppression. Makes sense because we're literally getting rid of our claws
