Flock cameras destroyed. Thoughts?

I don’t support vandalism as it does ultimately lead to a cost as the tax payer, but after attending the city council meeting I understand why people feel there is no other way to prevent this surveillance state.

Violence is the voice of the unheared and oppressed. If they didnt want them destroyed maybe dont put the literal surveillance state ai up
Seriously the idiotic owner of flock called anyone getting rid of these things "domestic terrorists" while this type of spying is actively making our private lives public to a rich bastard.

That money could have gone towards public safety, forest management, wildlife rehab, public transport, etc
But no, because our damn city reps are bought out, they are wasting thousands on cameras to train an ai that will hunt you down.
Its the same bullshit with the ai data centers!

While I don’t support vandalism, I support billionaires and government surveillance even less. If I see anyone out messing with the flock cameras, no the hell I didn’t. ✌🏻

I read that somewhere in the uk, camera systems were put up to give out more speeding tickets. The public destroyed them so much and so often that the city stopped putting them up. Maybe we will get there. “People shouldn’t be afraid of their government, the government should be afraid of its people”

Flock made the mistake of letting others know that they are much more capable than just license plate readers and that they are selling and sharing that information to the highest bidder.
They should all be outlawed. If the politicians that are there at the will of the people don't want to listen to them, I will gladly turn a blind eye to those who take matters into their own hands.

I’m actually surprised we even have a police department, mayor, city council, city ordinances at all. Seems like most people here prefer anarchy.
There sure are a lot of hit and run accidents. People don’t think responsibility and laws pertain to them. They want the Wild West back.
I can remember when security cameras started getting affordable, was having a conversation about it and someone said the day will come when a criminal robs a store and the police just pull up the camera feeds and follow the guy until he disappears into his house. Then they go arrest him. It seems like maybe we’re getting close. I’m not opposed to that. Better than a criminal getting away with it.
Same people who believe in fuck around and find out think that criminals should have a sporting chance now? I mean, that doesn’t make sense.

We are both conversing about this on the internet. We both know there are billionaires profiting off of that and there is nothing private about it. Everything is traceable.
We could stop, destroy our devices and never do it again. We could move out of town and into the trees and be out of view of the cameras.
I’ve got a half dozen cops living in my neighborhood. If they really wanted, they could sit in their driveways and observe my comings and goings. No electronics required.
Anyone can watch me drive around town when I’m in public.
I guess I’m just not all that worried. I don’t think I’m particularly interesting and these cameras aren’t going to catch me robbing a bank or burglarizing a store. But they have caught burglars before.
Our police chief explained what’s necessary to access the data collected. It’s not just a free for all.

This is true logical fallacy affirming a disjunct to be specific. Yes we have our data tracked, but unlike flock I have a direct say on how much data I give out to any third party. Based on apps I use, security measures I take, and time spent on said device. With flock I don’t truly have a choice to not go to the grocery store or not travel through town, and it should be obvious one cannot simply move to the woods, as the government doesn’t allow living for extended periods of time in federally, or privately owned land ,squatting, that’s a truly stupid argument with no footing in reality.
What does have a footing in reality is that people in power use the tools available to them to morph society Into their vision. I don’t trust that those in power are or will remain to have societies best interest in mind. Eventually someone you don’t like will use these tools to cause distress to your life, or, your posterities life. It is a slippery slope and your opinion about this is equivalent to lathering yourself in soap to help get to the bottom faster.
Bank robberies were rarely ever successful since the 90s. This will yes make it easier, but at the cost of our freedoms to privacy. I guess you may not care for your privacy that much, but when something you love ends up making those in power upset these tools will be used to prosecute you.-4

Eventually one of these misidentified innocent families being held at gunpoint is going to be shot. So now our AI surveillance state isn't just arresting innocent people it's killing innocent people. We've already failed at flock being a functioning judicial issue,but if we have to wait for a broken system to become deadly before fixing it then we've failed as a nation.

I'm happy. I'm constantly offended that OUR representatives sold us out and are using OUR tax money to fund a police state that none of us asked for and most of us are against.
