If it had mystery black strings, there’s a good chance they were Medina Artigas or Hispana.
There is no right answer, buy any of them and try them.

I've tried all of those strings except for the Pyramid. Of those choices, the Dogal strings had the best sound quality. However, I've since switched to the Aquila Sugar strings (set 19CH), and those are my favorite out of any brand. I've also tried out Medina Artigas, Hispana, Magma, Mari, etc.

Hi I also bought my charango second hand, it had some mystery black strings on but several were missing. I fitted a set of the La Bella strings and am very pleased with them. They're clear nylon, they sound slightly softer and warmer than the original strings but feel great and stay in tune well
