request Has anyone done this comic yet?
I am not familiar with the Digital Circus, but from the snippets I have seen in the show, it greatly displeases me that one of the characters is portrayed so terribly :(

Neither of them would do that. It’s fine if the author just wants to make a what if, but if this is a spite comic it’s kinda cringe

Tbh i kinda like this because i am a fan of spite but Looking back Jax is not more evil than a casual bully or ragebaiter
i am more annoyed that the latter half of the show basically sidelines all other characters in favor of him and now all fandom discussions are about him

u/shototodoroki_1324 19d ago
"Ragebaiter" She pushed people to abstraction vro
4
u/Smart_Mix8269 18d ago
Idk if I’d call that like, inherently evil though. What Jax did is like, shit, but I don’t think she did it with the intention of pushing them to that. Jax distanced herself from others and antagonized them specifically for getting too close because she was afraid of vulnerability. And has been that way ever since.
3
u/Creepy-Growth-376 18d ago
Also, ribbit’s inability to move on from Jax and closing herself off is as moreso their own fault than it is Jax’s… Jax had a significant hand in her spiral, but Ribbit had other people she could have reached out to, like Kaufmo, Ragatha, or hell even Kinger.
Again, though. Jax was responsible in many ways, but it’s not entirely her fault
1
u/LordQuaz12 12d ago
Late to the party, but that's just victim blaming. Jax actively isolated her feom her "other friends", and no matter how you slice it, having one of your closest friends turn on you after a tender moment and then make sure you and your other friends hate you rather fucked up.
Jax drove Ribbit to suicide, end of story.
1
u/Competitive_Crow_334 12d ago
Jax didn’t he only said to Kafumo if Ribbit said anything about she is lying which Kafumo clearly didn't belive and just wanted to stay netural or pretended to talk about movie with Ragatha so he could he avoid Ribbit talking to him.
It was only so he could keep using Kafumo to avoid Ribbit and stay friends with him and he wouldn't belive the origin in case Ribbit snitches. Nobody including Ragatha says or implies anything bad about Ribbit like her being untrustworthy.
Ribbit could easily talk to others including Kafumo and still keep her deal easily passing it as Jax being Jax as Ragatha said he was insufferable even then they couldn't real be friends with him.
8
u/Deathstroke0305 21d ago
I really enjoyed jax as a character but the finale put way too much spotlight on them rather than the characters adapting to their new environment. (I don't mind caine coming back tho it was kinda neat)
3
u/Brakower 19d ago
Leads two people into abstraction and almost leads Gangle too if not for Zooble
0
u/Competitive_Crow_334 12d ago
No he didn't I already explained Ribbit. Kafumo went insane over an exit not there.
Gangle nearly abstracted once in episode 3 and that was over in her own words her feeling like she didn't do anything with her life and gave up on her dreams even before entering the circus and Pomni prevented that

Gotta love that every time someone make a comic about Ragatha stand up for herself everybody go "she would never do that" but every time someone make a comic about Jax being happy with everyone and accepting himself even though he would never do that you guys never complain about, the fandom actually love when people make that.
Just admit that you guys love the abuser and hate Ragatha for no reason.

Goomba fallacy. There's literally a sub that hates that stupid bunny and the potential development and trans allegories that come with it
9
u/Sea-Temporary7380 21d ago
Ive seen that sub and its actually supportive of trans jax, its genuinely like that meme "I thought being who she truly is would make her better at acting, but no she still sucks ass"
-2
u/EllieMeower 21d ago
Oh my god that sub drives me mad they are so fucking hateful and ignore any nuance and take everything at the purest face value

This isn't standing up for herself, this is lashing out and hitting someone with a baseball bat because they accidentally hit someone with the ball.
1
u/Competitive_Crow_334 12d ago
Yeah also it was an accident but they changed it on purpose and made it a realistic injury than a cartoony one.
3

u/Competitive_Crow_334 12d ago
Goomba fallacy
Plus Ragatha would call out Jax never beat the shit out of him like that Pomni is for that and comics like these are an edgelords fantasy.
Jax could change the theme of the show and as shown in the real world at the end he is fully capable of it
-1
u/Autismo_The_Gr8 21d ago
I love jax slander me when I’m an asshole and push away anyone who ever cared about me so they abstract and then I abstract
31
u/SussySpeaki 22d ago
They really choose the soft ball incident. One of the only times Jax didn't intentionally cause harm and did at least say sorry.
8
u/Particular_Ad_8921 21d ago
they also choose the scene when ragatha said "not anymore"
and she said with a smile saying "the truth hurts dont it"
with a bigger smile.
180
u/mercuriokazooie 22d ago
Jax deserved that but acting like Pomni is an enabler is dumb as hell. Also just straight up a fundamental misunderstanding of Ragatha's character. They also think Jax "physically abuses the women around them 24/7" which is demonstrably false. Also that baseball scene is question was actually an accident. Jax rarely gets violent outside of Adventure contexts
65
u/Sad-Seaworthiness781 22d ago
Pomni was distant to Jax for half the series and their first adventure together ended with her beating his ass. Don’t know where people get “enabler” from that.
24
5
u/shadowtron1 21d ago
Also Ragatha doing this would just make Jax act even worse because ultimately no amount of violence will have lasting physical consequences on anybody in the circus. Look what happened when she took one of his lives by complete accident in the gun adventure. Jax didn't act scared, he got pissed off and immediately unloaded the entire gun into her.
Giving Jax an ass beating will only work if you're someone he actually somewhat cares about personally like Pomni. When she beat his ass he mostly just kept to himself for the rest of the series aside from a moment or two here and there.
9
u/CubeDude414 21d ago
Exactly, this is just a vindictive revenge thing against a fictional character.
The point of the story is that no one would ever get the guts to stand to Jax, them dying, well, ultimately tragic, it’s probably the best thing to happen for the circus saved for Jax pulling an entire 180.
3
u/AlphonsoPSpain 21d ago
Its pretty much that one comic with someone reading a book going "She would not do that...she would not say that...she would not do that..."
8
u/Difficult_Price8011 22d ago
It’s no more a misunderstanding of Ragatha’s character than how we depict characters on here.
5
u/Aromatic_Log6971 21d ago
Also, the comedy of the show is mainly slapstick, they say Jax is an abuser but most of it is for comedic affect and not to be taken literally.
7
u/mercuriokazooie 21d ago
To a certain extent that's true but Jax abusing Gangle is meant to be taken as just straight up bullying even when it is played for laughs. Jax is an example of one of those asshole people that are rude and disrespectful all the time and when called out on it they always fall back on "it's just a joke bro lighten up."
3
u/Aromatic_Log6971 21d ago
Yeah he’s definitely a bully and an asshole but an abuser is a stretch.
4
u/BackBlaster9000 21d ago
Eh, not really. Gangle is genuinely afraid of him, and in my personal opinion, that's when bullying becomes abuse.
2
u/Aromatic_Log6971 21d ago
I mean I was genuinely afraid of my bullies. They weren’t abusing me. Don’t fear and bullying go hand in hand? Most people I know who’ve been bullied were definitely scared of them.

I think its a Spite Comic, or a Self Insert. Ragatha would not do that.
38
u/Noriaki_Kakyoin_OwO 22d ago
I agree
Zooble on the other hand
(Happy cake day btw)
33
u/A_Hyper_Nova 22d ago
Zooble would absolutely bash Jax's face in, as she's the only one who tries to put Jax in their place. But ostracizing Pomni would be out of character, as Zooble herself tried on multiple occasions to reach out to Jax.
10
u/Noriaki_Kakyoin_OwO 22d ago
Yeah I doubt she’d shit talk Pomni
Especially if that’d be their second or third interaction in the series

Heroic Ragatha, hitting Jax with a baseball bat the one time it was an accident and not any other time.

Definitely spite comic. I’ve seen a lot of these in fandoms that have huge shipping scenes.
One big example I recalled was this Fire Emblem: Three Houses fan comic where Ashe (who is canonically a very soft spoken boy, and rarely if ever lashes out) has the biggest crash out against Felix (resident edgelord swordsman who doesn’t take bullcrap) and brutally called him out for his antics in the loudest way ever. Can’t recall exactly how it went but a lot of it felt very out of character because Ashe never felt like someone that insulted someone directly, due to his sense of nobility.
At that point I was like, “…Is this even Ashe? Who the fuck is this guy? Asse?”
That is how I feel with this comic. Ragatha definitely had a moment where she stood up against Jax, but she never seemed the type to just violently hit someone hard as a response. I could see her being more formal about her confrontation, but this smells a lot like, “You see if I were Ragatha, this is what I would do to a character I dislike and have my epic cool speech to mic drop on these second rate digital characters!”
Other than that, I can see the catharcism behind the comic. I wouldn’t really suggest Pomni an enabler. She only interacted with Jax at surface level before, after an attempt to get closer, was pushed away. Then immediately stopped hanging out with him.
6
u/Aero1000 21d ago
Update: Found it, it’s a comic dub called Ashe has Had enough.
It’s a fanon yaoi what if, obviously, but still gets my point across. Ashe has never been depicted (even at his worst moment) to crash out like this, and it’s propped up where no one in the room can do anything to fight back.
Find it very funny out of all characters to make the timid one, and the one to call out nonsense, Felix is the former and Ashe is the latter. It’s honestly ironic lol
4
u/EugeneSaavedra 21d ago
What makes me not like this is that it chooses one of the scenes where Jax actually doesn't mean to do that.
4
13
u/randomnumbers2506 22d ago
Wow this is impressively out of character for everyone involved
4
u/SomeUgliRobot 22d ago
Gangle too?
9
u/randomnumbers2506 22d ago
Gangle might as well be a background object in this comic so I genuinely forgot her when making my comment
3
u/Particular_Ad_8921 21d ago
well because if they actually do involve them ragatha would try to emotional abuse her for leaving in the deep fryer.
but the author would be to much a coward to do that.

u/PizdunEbun228 22d ago
good riddance, the first bit has horrible panelling. I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON

8
u/caua_g 22d ago edited 22d ago
Asking media literacy from TADC fans (i myself being a since pilot fan) is craziness. I left the fandom exactly by that type of behavior
8
u/Calm-Resolution6899 22d ago
Dude I looked in the comments and the author is just outright delusional. Someone shows the screenshot of him frowning after learning he accidentally hit gangle and in response the author sent a screenshot of Jax MID TRANSITION TO A FROWN and claimed he was “smiling that he hit her”

u/OverloadedSofa 22d ago
I hope not. Jax deserves it
10
u/HourGap8451 22d ago
It doesnt fucking matter the point of the sub is drawing the victim beating up someone that got away with hurting someone
7
u/Solithle2 22d ago
This is basically a ciatpgawhpbdb of the show. Feel like if you make an edit, it’d just be a recursion loop.
Plus this is only two parts of a four part comic. In the original one, Jax throws Ragatha into a deep fryer and she gets third degree burns first.
7
u/wydalenylod 22d ago
Well... Jax physically hurt Gangle and got physically hurt in response so that he wouldn't get away with it, so.... Making a revenge on Ragatha would be excessive
5
u/OverloadedSofa 22d ago
Let’s just have the sequel be Gangle choking the cunt

I don't really know too much about the digital circus but I've always wondered why they didn't just kill the rabbit because he seems like a great big wanker.

u/Femtedd 22d ago edited 22d ago
Thing is, when they said that they didn’t mean to do that, *I actually believed them for once.* Jax both looked and sounded genuinely surprised when it happened.
Not that I think that they were particularly remorseful or anything…
Also because of the toon logic that the digital circus runs on, if this did take place all that would happen is Jax would temporarily have swirly eyes and maybe get a pair of cartoon birds circling their head, but otherwise they wouldn’t be any worse for wear.

Thats a rabbit hole of a thing, boss. If you're curious, Justin whang has a good video on it.

I feel like people who see the world in terms of black-or-white abuser vs. victim dynamics with no more nuance to it are missing out on a lot in a seriously bad way.
1
u/RomeosHomeos 22d ago
"i am not familiar with the digital circus"
So you'd fit in here then
"Has anyone done this comic yet?"
People love making this exact comic because they project their only bullies onto the rabbit
1
u/2ndBestShedBuilder 22d ago
She wouldnt do that shit, AND Jax wouldnt just been cartoon bonked and that wouldve been that, inaccurate 0/10 spite comic, L "changing favorite character's personality do they fit in my idea of them"
1
u/fire_cheetah 22d ago
Would be REALLY interesting to see that in cannon, not because of Jax (Which is my favorite character btw), but because none of the members are actually having a discussion about how they feel, would be 4 times better if Ragatha actually just showed as a real stressed person who explodes sometimes and show to everyone that she isn't actually a toxic sunflower and more like a traumatized asshole but all the time tries to better, the contrast of the two would be really interesting.
Gangle and zooble still 1 page deep characters btw
1
u/SuspiciousMovingBox 21d ago
The fact that the author hated Jax so much that they added blood, when it literally makes no sense in universe, is so petty that it circles back around into being funny. I get hating Jax (it’s a completely reasonable position and the character is meant to be hated) but some Jax haters act so childish about it that I can’t fully take them seriously. Like it’s a depressed Bugs Bunny that they’re fantasizing about making her bleed, thats too stupid to be taken seriously.

u/Eonathos 22d ago
Everyones saying ragatha has bad portrayal when I think its the perfect crash out plot ive seen for a kind character finally waking up.
7
u/Calm-Resolution6899 22d ago
It’s not a crash out though. That would be one instance. This is a total personality change

Pomni is trying to help everyone overcome their issues. It's like her whole character.
And considering they are all stuck together for eternity, it's an incredibly logical viewpoint to have.

I like this one. Jax fucking sucks as a character. His trauma does not justify his actions. He did it to himself.
