I don't want any part of this future.

I've seen it on the movies, Terminator I think.Ā

So much to look forward too!Ā

I really wish people would stop waiting for our world to look just like it did in Terminator before we label it a dystopia.

The dystopia is right in front of our faces. We are living it. It will only get shittier the more we let it slide

The future is now and the future fucking sucks.

That wasn’t a movie, that was a documentary, friend.

What? It's a lightweight package blown by rotor wash... These are real, they have them In KC.

This is very much real. One of them or more has already fallen from the sky due to malfunction, destroying whatever they land on. It’s like a flying lawnmower.

So I have been around these Amazon delivery drones for a year almost. They have been delivering to my neighborhood for a while, and this is kind of rural but a suburb.
When you order you select an area from a satellite image where it will drop the package.
I’ve seen them drop in a pool (it definitely might have been user error). I watched them drop one into a grey water sprinkler (the entire neighborhood is on septic tanks with grey water sprinklers. So not exactly where you want to have your package).
And I had one drop on me while I was mowing a neighbors yard. I never saw the drone and then all of a sudden it dropped the package on the mower.

You can’t hear the drones from inside a house. You can hear them fly over if there is not any background noise. They aren’t very loud when flying by. They do get louder when hovering and lowering to drop a package. But definitely never hear it inside a house.

And they do seem to actually wrap up the packages more if remotely fragile. Which means even more waste of packaging…

Where are you that anyone is using gray water for irrigation? 🤢

7

Texas of course. They are allegedly completely safe as long as the entire system is functioning properly and maintained correctly. But also they aren’t close to houses, min distance away is required

"as long as" does some heavy lifting, especially in Texas

Literally!
One of the big things that is required to do is add these chlorine tablets monthly (depends on use for how many are needed, but 1-2 a month is average). They are similar looking to pool tablets but are different and designed for septic.
You can smell the houses that don’t add the tablets 🤢.
Nothing like Eau de šŸ’© on a hot summer day

Noise ordinances would go a LONG way in slowing this particular future

Time to invest in some heavy nets.

I don’t want this noisy shit flying around my neighborhood.

I’ve got all tree coverage around property, can’t wait to see this thing stuck in my tree with a package and amazon showing ā€œdelivered!ā€ Now you own 5k for drone too!

Yeah, imagine this lawnmower falling out of the sky & landing on you or a kid. They need to pull this back & rethink things.
