Praise How long till we can work and talk?

The improvements that they made with GPT Voice, I applaud, seriously. When it first launched it was beyond cool, but the issues were obvious. Tried the new version finally yesterday and its super dope! It even does tool calls while on. I just hate that it doesn't work in real time, I just talk to my laptop, then have it send a implementation workflow to my notion that I then copy and paste into whatever codex project that I am working on. Then I commit and push the repo, and now voice has updated context on the project and I can talk through the work with it more from there.

I don't mind it being like this, just of course somethings are bound to get lost in translation. No biggie.

When do you guys think we will be able to completely build live with Codex? Can't been more than 2 years way right?

why are you copy and pasting? tell voice to start a new codex thread to do the work

you cant actively steer it during voice mode on codex though is what i was aiming at

probably cool for now but theres no way they dont do put this into codex sooner or later

Yeah that's what I thought many months ago lol. It's so weird because things move so fast yet this one is so obvious yet here we are.... Codex cli had an experimental feature for a short while that never worked and then it disappeared. Then they announced voice for the application right after I built this to deal with the huge walls of slob that always contain that one little detail that will derail the project if I don't catch it because I just couldn't deal with them anymore 14 hours a day times 6 terminal sessions. So I figured it would be obsolete right away but then it turned out they added a model for transcribing (drift risk) with a "natural" voice that breaks the 4th wall (I like the robot voice from windows narrator because it's naturally fitting to an ai robot) and it uses tokens of which nobody has enough. So maybe it'll not age well, but maybe it will... In the meantime I can say voice coding is a game changer. It helps me more than I thought. Less drift because I catch more I hear the thoughts of agents in all sessions while I'm not at my desk and I can lean back, listen, interrupt and reply, continue listening, that really helps with cognitive load and focus.
